Most supermarkets are fairly large and some department stores can be huge. The aisles are practically a labyrinth. It's very easy to get separated when one person is distracted by a packet of biscuits or something. One minute they're there the next they're not.
So have you ever lost someone in a shop?
No I keep everyone on a leash
No we stick close together
Only for a few minutes
I had to phone to find them
The shop has to put a tannoy out for them to go to the service desk
I lost my son at th3 local mall. I saw a friend there and stopped to talk to him for a minute. When I turned to look for my son, he was gone. I knew my wife would kill me if I came home without him so I ran around the mall ducking into all the stores until I found him in Sports Authority.
My then-wife and I often went shopping with our young son. Once, I was watching him while she tried on some clothes. Suddenly, he was gone. I hunted around the store and found him a few minutes later, hiding under one of the clothes racks. He was playing hide-and-seek. Fortunately, that was before mom came out of the dressing room.
Inside a shop I never lost anyone; well, as far as I'm aware of ;0) But in only a few seconds, swimming in the sea near the coast, I did lose sight of a girl I had been asked to keep an eye on. No harm happened: the girl just did a few meters underwater, but I got the lesson. losing someone out of sight can happen really very quickly.
Most often, we'd set up a meeting point in case we get lost. In one department store, they had a free jukeboox in the women's department so, that's where you'd find me!!

In the most recent case I was clearly looking for something and the shop girl came over and asked if she could help me.
I said "she's about this high". The shop girl searched and found her. Good service.
Somewhat. We then asked a cashier to use the PA-system for him. Great fun (for us). 🤪

It happens but we'll meet up at the end if we get separated
Only myself during a shopping frenzy.
It happened to me once. A fun experience.
Not more than a few minutes.
Years ago as a child
That's funny
Haha. Funny
