Why are horses considered feminine animals?

Just curious. For centuries, horses were primarily ridden by men who worked cattle.

But nowadays, horses are viewed as a primarily female animal.

I'm not speaking just about showing them, as I can understand why a man would not particularly enjoy that aspect. But just horsemanship in general is considered feminine.

Why? I see nothing overly feminine about saddling up and going for a ride in the woods for the day.

Horses aren't very soft creatures either. They're very powerful animals who, if not handled correctly, can inflict serious injury, even death, to their handler.

I'm not saying it's bad or good, I'm just wondering why. I've spoken to many guys who say they'll never ride a horse because, "horses are girly" when in fact, horses are about as unisex of an animal you can get. There are not feminine looking horses like there are feminine looking breeds of dog or cat or fish. They're all fairly standard.

Can someone explain?

I know they're not feminine. I've been around/worked with/owned them for my entire life. I just wish more guys were into them. I'd honestly have to marry him if he was a good horseman. Lol
