Thanksgiving is my favorite by far. Nothing like a good old fashioned harvest festival to put things right before winter kicks in. The last of the fresh greens, a big roast critter, lots of good people food drink and BS around the fire.
Can't beat that with a stick.
Independence Day is a close second, and only fails to win because it's normally too damned hot to enjoy. I don't know though. Maybe it should get top billing. You do get to blow stuff up, and that's always fun as long as nobody gets hurt or arrested. :-)
My least favorite is Presidents' Day. Why the heck should we celebrate politicians? I could go for a "Founders' Day" celebrating the signers of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, but since then it seems like there aren't a lot of em that have been worth celebrating.00 Reply

u +1 yFavorite holiday: Easter (religious) and July 4th (non-religious).
Least favorite? I can't really think of a holiday that I could consider "least favorite".
Thank you for calling it "Christmas" :-)31 Reply- +1 y
whats July 4th?
I love Chinese New Year- I always get money from family :-)
I love Thanksgiving- growing up in a very multicultural background produces one of the best Thanksgiving ever. Just imagine all the traditional American dishes- pecan sweet potato casserole, turkey, ham, gravey, biscuits, green beans and fried onion, pies, mash potatoes, etc. MIXED with sushi, hot pot, kimchi, Chinese food, desert: cake/ mochi.
I LOVE Halloween: scarring people is more fun on this holiday haha. I don't care how old I am, I'll dress up and even trick or treat!
Valentines day is a holiday? who knew I never got work off for that day. I'm neutral about it.
Least Favorite holiday would be St. Patrick day00 Reply
My favorite holiday is Halloween! Ha! Ha! I love getting free candy, dressings up, getting the crap scared out of me, and partying all night xD
My least favorite holiday I would have to say is... Hmmm I'm stumped, this is harder than I thought =/
I guess I would have to say Thanksgiving (or should I say today), I picked Thanksgiving because:
1. I'll gain 20lbs within one day!
2. So the whole purpose of Thanksgiving is to reminisce and to be thankful for what you have. To actually realize how well your life is, and honestly that's not what's on my mind today. All I'm focused on is EATING which I'm sure others are as well.
But, I do enjoy Thanksgiving besides that... =)01 Reply

I love the 4th of July. Drinking beers, bar-b-que, and explosives... Could life get better? I think not! =P I really like explosives. Chemistry is fun, and making your own fireworks is just a labor of love for me. I know there are plenty of holidays where people blow shit up, but here in the USA the apex is the forth, so it's like being a kid all over again every year. Great stuff. It never gets old. =)
My least favorite would probably be something like President's Day... Who wants to celebrate an overlord? =D21 Reply- +1 y
KABOOM!
+1 yFavorite: New years. I enjoy staying up late with my family. It's still nice to see what's going on in Manhattan by watching TV. It's fun to think about plans for next year. What we'll try to accomplish, how we can do it, etc.
Least favorite: Valentine's day. I have been single all my life (23 years). It can be depressing to see everyone around me holding hands, laughing, kissing, having fun with the opposite sex while I am just sitting or walking alone with no one to even talk to. I'm used to it, but I still feel upset when I really think about it.20 ReplyIt used to be New years eve, but now it's Easter. We celebrate Easter here differently it resembles more an American Thanksgiving when family come together and celebrate life and enjoy each others company with good food and great fun and a lot of song.
My favorite part of this holiday is having my kid(s) and all my nephews and nieces at my mother's house laughing and just running around, playing games and asking why the sky is blue and birds can fly, then later falling asleep on a big old mattress. I'm trying to enjoy these times as much as I can, because I know they won't be here forever. To bad we can't slow down time during these moments. :-D00 ReplyFavorite: X-mas or Halloween. Probably Christmas because I always get to see my cousins, and we eat LOADS of food, and it's so fun!
Least Favorite: Um... hm... flag day. It's always right before my birthday. I would like it better if it were ON my birthday (Literally, it's on June 14th, and my birthday's on the 15th!)20 Replyfavorite : Christmas. decorations, family, gifts, food, Christmas carols, celebrating my Saviour's birth, etc. when I was a kid I use to LOVE performing/watching Christmas plays in school.
least: Labor Day, veteran day etc .holidays I don't usually do anything10 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yFavourite is Christmas just because we get days off (or if we work, we get holiday pay)...and plus it snows so it's pretty and we can do winter sports. Least favourite is Thanksgiving because we don't do the turkey thing so it feels kinda lonely and it's like we're missing something.
10 ReplyMine are exactly the same. I've never had anyone special to celebrate Valentine's day with so until I do I'm just going to mindlessly hate that stupid holiday haha. It's like a giant fuck you for single people. I like Christmas because I get to get presents for people and see the joy on their face when they open them...I can do without the constant Christmas music though.

+1 yMy favorite is Christmas. I have a blast with my family and love to give and receive presents. I also love Christmas dinner. It's just a fun time to decorate and spend time inside nice and cozy with loved ones. My least favorite holiday is Saint Nicholas' day on November 5th. I think that's what it's called. My parents wouldn't give me anything on that day and I would be sad when kids showed what they got at school.

+1 yThanksgiving is top[s for me, because it's a traditional Civil War based holiday, and my family fought on the Union side.
Also because it is not religious, and one where family members gather more than on any other day save, maybe, Christmas, and that's so spoiled by commercialization.00 Reply I love Valentine's day. If I had to choose one that I don't like it would have to be. Well I can't. Christmas, Easter, New Years, St. Patty's, I love them all. Oh yes I can't forget Thanksgiving. I don't understand why people dislike any holiday there all great!

+1 yfavorite is Christmas, but it's more like the Christmas season. I love Christmas movies and music, the lights and decorations, and special flavors of food/drinks like peppermint and gingerbread. I don't really have a least favorite per se I just have some (a lot) that I don't really celebrate. new years is usually boring because I'm always home because my parents (mostly mom) don't like letting go of me for the holidays but they also don't do anything and sleep before midnight :/ lol
00 Replysame with you there. Christmas is just so warm and everyone is suddenly so nice and the lights, the smell of baked things, the drinks... So nice. While Valentine is just a hallmark holiday and all the pink hearts and PDA-ing couples make me want to lock myself in for the whole week.
00 Replymy favorite is always Christmas..new stuff, family gathering, good food, romance, traditions, shopping. what's not to love ^_^ not to mention the happy atmosphere
my least favorite is actually easter, simply because I'm not a kid anymore, I don't have kids, so while it has its own special significance I am the least active that day than I am any other holiday. I just eat at my church00 ReplyI love Christmas as well, I hate New Years... I don't get the reason behind celebrating the passing of a date from a manmade calendar. But I hate Valentines day the most, I've always been single on it which is depressing enough... But frankly if I loved someone I'd show them everyday, I wouldn't wait until Valentines to show it, it's also not a day to go 'over the top' about it, because since when was materialism considered romantic and thoughtful?

+1 yI love Christmas! I love the decorations, lights, snow, presents and winter break (:
My least favorite is New Years. I find that it is usually boring and it makes me think about all the things I haven't done before the year is over lol ):10 Reply
+1 ySame as you.
I love Christmas because of the decorations,music,the spirit,gift giving,etc.
REALLY dislike Valentines due to why younger years. when I was in middle school and we got to buy a cupcake for our 'sweetheart' and have it delivered to them. well as you can imagine,I never got one. So because of that experience I have come to loath the holiday. f course I was married a few years ago and he woyld always get me something. still hate it though.00 Reply312 opinions shared on Valentine's Day topic. I have a seasonal tie (call me shallow right) :D I love the creativity of Halloween and the spirit of Christmas
Least favorite-St. Patrick's Day, I never celebrate so to me it's just any other day20 ReplyFavorite holiday?
Christmas Eve, Christmas and The day after Christmas :P Two are state holiday's and Halloween.
Least favorite? Probably Valentines day, it mean nothing to me because I have never celebrated it with anyone.10 ReplyWhen single: my least favorite holidays are every holiday except Christmas and Thanksgiving.
When in a relationship, I love all of them!40 Reply
+1 yI love Halloween, Bon Fire Night and Christmas!
But I really love bon fire night, lots of fireworks, sparklers, bon fire, hot chocolate everyone outside just having fun! Its lovely :310 ReplyFavorite: Christmas, though when I was a kid, it was Valentine's Day.
Least Favorite: My birthday, because it was always the first day of school.21 Reply- +1 y
hahahahahahahah, that's fucked up. Your birthday couldn't have a more depressing date lol, sorry, I feel for ya xD but at the same time it's kind of funny haha.
Maybe you could find a school with a different starting date?
Favorite: Thanks giving, the one time of the year you can pig out and not feel guilty.
Least favorite: Toss up between Christmas and Valentines day, cause their both Overexposed, and too commercialized, plus it's sad seeing people together while your all alone and lonely on Valentines day.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 ySame as you, Christmas is my favorite, Valentine's Day is my least favorite (mainly because I'm 24 and have never had a girlfriend, let alone a girlfriend on Valentine's Day).

+1 yTo be completely honest, I kinda lost the spirit of all the holidays.
I've lost one too many people around a holiday or on the actual holiday,
so it's tainted for me now. Maybe, it will change someday. But, for now
this is how I feel.00 Reply
+1 yNew Years Eve, Halloween(That day when I scare the crap out of children and teens and it not to be frowned upon), My birthday, and Dia De Los Muertos. Least favorite Valentines Day and Thanksgiving. Seem pretty obselete to me.

+1 yThanksgiving is and has always been my favorite holiday. Valentine's day I don't consider a holiday, it is a day merchants have created to make a buck.

+1 ySt. Pats of course. I'm not too big on holidays as an adult. I think they're more catered to children. And I don't have any, so holidays aren't that fun for me :/
00 ReplyIs Newyears concidered a Holiday? If so, I love blowing things up and it's always a bigger deal, in that aspect, than 4th of July. And Easter is my least favorite. Not much of an egg hunter.

annnnd the worst is probably Christmas.. an awkward gathering of gifting. It always makes everything uncomfortable.00 ReplyMy most favorite is Christmas and new year and the least would be Valentine's day because I'm single lol

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yMy favorite is probably Halloween because I find it to be the most fun. Christmas is the most expensive and stressful. Thanksgiving is pretty bogus, just food, haha! Valentine's Day is also bogus, and nothing special unless you HAVE someone special.
