Why Motorcycle Are Better Than Cars

We talk about motorcycle as though they were just a big boys toy, and that cars are the most efficient way to get around or even the be-all end-all of transport. They think car enthusiast are sensible[obviously not having seen the Fast & Furious]

Why Motorcycle Are Better Than Cars

In reality, when you think about it, it's obviously the other way around. Anybody who says otherwise is some dickhead car enthusiast. And yes, most car enthusiast, aka ricers and petrolheads, are dickheads.

REASON #1--Gas Mileage. No car will ever beat a motorcycle in mileage. my 250cc gets 70-80MPG. Yes sure there ARE a few exceptions, like 1000cc inline four motorbikes, or huge Harleys, that get slightly worse gas mileage than a hatchback. But firstly, those bike are way too big, and are only safe on the track, and secondly those bike are a minority, and cost too much even for a bike and most bikers don't have one. The most popular sizes are between 250cc and 600cc, which can be cheap as chips. Which brings us to...

REASON #2--General Cost. In my country of Australia, the average registration price for cars is 25aud weekly, 98 octane petrol is just a bit shy $1.50aud a litre, and we all know how needlessly complex cars are today, so good luck working on em yourself and save money.

Even lemons cost ten grand to buy and usually have over a 100.000 kilometers[60.000 miles] on them. And unlike America, we don't have lemon laws, which can land someone in your debt, literally, or in prison if they sell you a lemon.

But I bought my 2011 cbr250 for 2.700aud with just over 15.000 kilometers on it. It has never let me down, and I've only done basic owner maintenance.

Where as with my 2011 cbr250 Honda, I've done all my maintenance, including changing the oil[there's another one, my bike only needs 1.5L of oil, unlike the avg 5L for cars] changing and lubricating the chain, changing the oil filter, and much more.

I have done it all with a Kmart tool kit that cost me 30aud. To work on your own car, you'd need a huge toolchest that costs over a grand, not including air or power tools tools.

Also in general, car ownership can easily be a crippling financial burden. Families have been reported to sacrifice rent, food, bills and even the basic essentials for their children just to make a car payment.

Just to put that all into perspective, an American dollar is 30% more valuable than an Australia dollar, so $1.00usd is $1.30aud.

REASON #3--Motorcycles don't ruin cities. In all cities across the western world, parking lots take up around %30 of all the available land, and roads even more so. I'll let the legendary Colledgehumor star Adam Conover explain this one. If there were more motorcycles and less cars, this would never have happened.

Sure Mr Conover wants an all public transport system in cities, but bikes would be just as good, like in Vietnam.

REASON #4--Bikers are friendlier and more sensible. You'll never meet anybody with half a brain or any social graces in a flashy car, except of course rich arseholes. And we almost never get pulled over or given the Breathalyzer, because you won't last a minute drunk on a bike. And whne Honda made the revolutionary Cub in the 60s the slogan was "You meet he nicest people on a Honda"

REASON #5--Bikes are more reliable. There isn't much on a bike that can go wrong and render the entire bike useless, unlike a car what is needlessly complicated with many systems that if broken will render the car usless. And don't get me started on Audis or Mercedes, they are just glorified lemons with delusions. They are laughable like Islamic love dolls...because they blow themselves up.
