Anchovies Worst Pizza Topping Ever Called By Many

Anchovies has been called the worst Pizza topping ever and there are reasons why many people don't like it. But there are some people who do like Anchovies if no one likes it it wouldn't be an option to be put on people's Pizza so there has to be many people who like it.

Too Much Salt On Anchovies

Most people don't like food that has too much salt,and considering that Pizza already has salt on it people will likely not like Anchovies. Many people don't even know why Anchovies has so much salt on it. It might be because to give Anchovies more flavor. Anchovies having too much salt is the main reason why people don't like Anchovies that's the reason I hear the most.

Many people say how awful Anchovies are and make jokes about them. There's one joke called "I Love Anchovies On Pizza,Said No One Ever." The Anchovies are terrible jokes are pretty popular. Many people seem to not like them if people would make a joke like that.

Actually my guy and I were really curious about the whole anchovy pizza thing, we were at a very traditional, authentic wood fired pizza place where the thin crust is cracker thin and crispy. (No thick or stuffed crust on the menu, a thick crust here would be like most everyone else's thin crust.)

We got talking to the owner about anchovy as a pizza topping, he told us something like; "OK, I'll make you a small pizza with Anchovies and olives on it, if you don't like it you don't pay for it if you do you can pay if you like." OK, deal we both figured we have nothing to lose.

A few minutes later the owner comes back out with a ten inch pie with anchovies which he had broken up into about a quart of an inch long and kalamatta olives. We ended up paying for the pie. While it isn't our favorite topping, it is an interesting flavor which when paired with the amazing thin crust, fresh spicy tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese just might prove even the most leery person wrong! It's not something I'd go to Pizza Hut and order either! (In my opinion, it might be a good one bite horsdovour with something to drink along with it, but only with that cracker thin crust!!)

Have to agree with pineapple not belonging on pizza, pineapples don't grow in Italy so they don't belong on a pie! Well at least the pizza I'm eating!!

I worked at a pizza place that had anchovies as an ingredient. It very rarely got ordered. I don't know the numbers, but if I had to totally guess, thinking about working the phones, I'd guess around 2-5% of pizzas.

I don't personally think they are horrible. They were edible. But I don't want to ruin a perfectly good pizza either. "Not horrible" and "edible" aren't good enough for a pizza.

Well, as a vegetarian, I eat only meatless types of Pizza, but I know lots of people who like anchovies.
I think pineapple is the worst pizza topping ever, I don't like combinations of sweet and savory foods.

I love anchovies in everything.

My favorite way is with dried coffee grounds with peanut butter and anchovies sandwich. Then chase it down with a shoot a vodka. Been doing that every Saturday since high school. Yum yum

Pineapple is in my opinion definitely the worst one (out of common pizza toppings). Pineapple absolutely does not belong on pizza.

I respect those who always avoid anchovy pizza because they are vegetarians. But shame on the wimps who hate it, especially those who've never tried it! No excuse there. by the way fish was the earliest & original pizza topping which existed in ancient Rome in the BCs.
