My Theory on Possible Time Travel

Note that time travel in this sense is not physically entering another time. No space time continuum factors. This also would only work for visiting the past.

The first thing is to understand transferring data through DNA. Look that up if you don’t know about it.

DNA data storage is a big part of the future wether or not this theory is possible.

The max potential of this is unknown, but here’s my big question; could we gain visual memory?

If so, we could possibly make “recordings” of a person’s memory. Even things they don’t remember at the time. Any memory in their brain.

If all this became possible, would a technology similar to virtual reality let us “see through their eyes”? Not just seeing it on a screen, but feeling like they’re in their body as they make their actions.

The last question is if the DNA could transfer all this data after death? It would be a great technique for solving as much as murder if used for police. It would also simply be used simply to see great past events with no actors or art. Maybe even dreams. Maybe pure imagination!

An example is almost feel like the first man in space. Everyone could see exactly what it looked like.

Final Verdict:

This is by no means the famous version of time travel, but another kind that I feel just may be something possible. (And with no possibile risk of collapsing the entire universe. lol) Perhaps you could see past events of someone outside a first person perspective by looking through the memories of a witness. (If one exists)

So basically we're talking about the transfer of genetic memories like in Assassin's Creed? This is actually something that has been tested and the results are pretty interesting. I wish I had a mind better suited to understanding it because I find it truly fascinating.
However, I don't really view it as time travel. Do we time travel when we remember our lives 10 years ago? Besides, I don't think specific memories would be able to be passed down. it's a lot more primal than that. It's more like our instincts and reactions to certain stimuli are passed down.

Well in Assassin's Creed, you essentially use a machine that can access the genetic memories stored in our DNA in order to relive the events of our ancestors.

Well the idea is that this organisation (called Abstergo and was once the Knights Templars) is trying to locate these hidden artifacts and they do it by kidnapping people with ancestors who were present in the specific time period, hook them up to this machine, and essentially force them to play through their ancestor's memories until the artifact is discovered and its last known location discovered.
It's pretty awesome, man. The series took a dive for about 4 or 5 games but the original concept is really interesting.

With as much understand as I have I agree with Einstien that travel back in time is impossible. It is over and does not exist here or there. But you are talking about recording the past for future observation. I believe that DNA is out. DNA stores the composition of the body. Kind of a formatted disk but blank and nothing on it yet. Our consciuos begins early and in the womb but that is imprints on our conscious and subconscious memory.
There was a movie about this very topic. A recording chip is installed at birth and records everything the eyes see. This would be more practical. Accessing feelings may be more difficult becasue our memory records data form emotion in separate parts of the brain. One part of the brain lerans that hitting your fingers with a hammer is painful and will damage the host body. It will record that it hurt but not feel it. An example is a child who hits his fingers witht he hamer day after day. He knows its wromng and bad and with his emotions telling him how much he hates the feeling, he may do it over and over until it gets through. (just my example).
But this idea is really good. Would it be possible to turn off the recorder so that your worst case of diareaia is not seen or smelled. How but you mastubation of wetting your pants. Maybe your wedding night when you wish to be private.

The problem is repeating the feelings part. The hard part of consoling someone is that the feelings are a response and are they excited that the war is over or are you happy because your husband is coming home. How will you know which is the cause. We would still be an observer. Or would we know that as well.

Unfortunately, DNA doesn't store that kind of information. Look, data is VERY raw but information is very specialized. Your DNA stores data and only CERTAIN data. Your height, your weight, your bone structure, blood, etc.

It's not going to store INFORMATION like what happened to your grandmother SPECIFICALLY.

That DOES however manifest itself in data. Like for example: Did you know that a woman whose grandma was a holocaust survivor wanted to end her own life through obliteration? Throwing herself into the bottom of a steel mill as if to be "vaporized" her grandmother felt the same way. She felt survivors guilt and wanted to die in fire to be with her family. The girl felt the same as her grandma.

These desires are data, as she doesn't have her grandmother's memories, just the feeling of survivors guilt. Her grandmother's memories are "information".

Time travel is not possible since time as we interpret it does not exist and is not a place that can be travelled through. There is a potential was to do something similar, and that is inter dimensional travel. We all live in a universe with dimensions all co-exisiting side by side. These dimensions are all mostly the same except for some minute differences that you probably might not even notice. In theory, these dimensions may all be at different periods of "time". If one could travel through these dimensions, they could essentially time travel. Easiest way could be through a wormhole or some sort of hole in space, as according to the space-time continuum, time and space are essentially one and the same, so if you can open a hole in space, you can open a hole to a new dimension and part of time.

First things first, memories are not stored in the DNA.

Secondly, let us see some assumptions and some things we know for sure.
A thing we know for sure is that even after heart stops beating, brain is still active for approximately 3-5 minutes.
An assumption is that when we die, in our last moments we "reexperience" every single moment of our life.

With that being said and if it was possible, which is most absolutely not, and if we had technology, which we once again don't have, we could capture those "pictures" and review them.

To sum it up, something like that is impossible.

The two biggest problems I see are:
1. Memories aren't stored in DNA
2. The memories we do have are almost always inaccurate

I think one of these days, we'll be able to map the mind (maybe even without killing the subject), but not because of DNA, and we will end up with a very incomplete telling of what really happened. It'd still be interesting, though.

Since time is really not a physical thing. As everything has already happened time travel could theoretically be real. The issue is the human body and mind. We don't know what time is exactly. We only have theories about it. We don't know when time started or if it even has a beginning. First we would need to be able to understand why and how the universe was created fully.

As for time travel moving forward in time is one thing but moving back to the past is completely different and not likely to ever happen because the speed you would need to move at would make you heavier than the universe.

Then that's not time travel its accessing memory's. Think about your 29th birthday... you haven't time travelled now, you just remember it. Time and space are linked. Time isn't an abstract concept its a force that is acted upon. the speed of time depends on real forces in the world.

I don't think it's possible since even with a binary based we get the order of possible recombination as Graham's Number. DNA operates on a Hexadecimal base. To actually time travel, you need to delocalize the certainty in in the "present" and again localise the the certainty in your parallel universe which has the desired time frame

A cool thing would be if you could accelerate the world around you past speed light : you would literally see the world go back in time until the instant you started accelerating the world round you. You would only be able to observer however.
