Coldplay is just too goddamn depressing to listen to?

Aight I freaking love Coldplay they're my absolute favorite band. Of course they have songs that are really great for when you need to have a good cry. BUT they have soooo many more that are upbeat!! Have you ever listened to Strawberry Swing? It always puts me in such a good mood. I'm sure you've heard Viva la Vida. Almost everything off of Mylo Xyloto was upbeat (Charlie Brown, Paradise, Every Teardrop, etc.) Those are just a few examples. Take a listen to more of their stuff and you will see how un-depressing Coldplay actually is. :)

Coldplay is perfect to listen to when something absolutely terrible happens. Fix You and The Scientist are my favourite.
At least it isn't like those blaring pop songs asking us to be happy all the time.
It's human to feel low, so why not have songs that describe how you feel?

i think its genre is somewhat what u said but i love them regardless...i mean its good to lidten them after u had a breakup lol its helps and u can just let it out..u know what i mean and also listen to violet hill, its not depressing, its got a n upbeat tune :)

Coldplay is sleepy and not at all depressing in my opinion. Yorke, on the other hand, can make you want to slit your wrists and set your gushing blood on fire.

I will say that I appreciate what they (Coldplay) did for the piano. Seems like it had an uptick of resurgence which was, in part, thanks to them.
