Is motherly a compliment or no?

I've been hooking up with this guy I met at the gym since the beginning of the school year. It's only been sex, nothing more. The other night we just stayed up and talked which we really haven't done. We've always kept our relationship on only a hooking up basis. He described me as "Mom-like" or "motherly." We are 23 and fairly attractive people. Should I take this as compliment or no?

He said it after he described me as attractive, funny, outgoing and a intelligent. Then, he said, at the same time I have "motherly" like qualities at times. It just caught me off guard, i couldn't tell if that was his nice way of saying uninterested

It can mean either ways -
1. You are too mature for your age
2. You will make a great mother / a great wife

So first one may not necessarily be a compliment, but second one definitely is! It depends on what context he said that? What was the discussion you were having with him that led to this reply?

Don't take it as a compliment, rather find a competition that would make him jealous and tell you that you are his girlfriend not mother.
No one would like to sex with mother (apology for using this.)
