Geniuses are obsessive, but we don't have OCD most of the time. OCD is more like checking stuff over and over again and having anxiety if you don't check it again. Finding something fascinating and spending tons of time and energy digging into it to the point where you ignore other parts of your life, isn't the same as worrying about the small things continuously and then being forced by compulsive emotions to control the small things. Geniuses are generally mastery oriented. I think most OCD people are performance oriented. We're entirely different animals with different motivations.
Humans don't even have a clear definition of what being a genius is. I would gladly take average ability over living with a mental illness.
I don't have a choice, I am technically a genius according to logic and my ability to read people like a book. And IQ, but that doesn't mean much to me. I won't say I have OCD but I might have a mild version of it. I don't act like a genius or even smart sometimes because I want a normal life.
Well, to be good at anything you need to have high standards. It gets really tiring and even painful sometimes, but still, I'd rather be good at what I do.

Not all mental illness implies genius-level IQ. In fact, genius is rare, especially in America where the average IQ is 97. There are a lot more people with mental illnesses than there are geniuses. If a genius is queer, that's because they see things no one else can see--patterns in the world, and such. OCD is not the same. A genius will WANT to completely understand something, not feel obsessively compelled to count steps going up to their apartment.
I don't want to be a genius no matter what. I think people who are perfect at everything are boring. And it should be boring for them too. They got nothing to learn. Nothing to master. No goal basically. What's gonna be interesting to accomplish if the person can already do everything?
I'm a genius, and there's no need to suffer from any mental disorder.
You can enjoy every minute of it, even if people think you're crazy.I wouldn't really want to be accepted as normal.

Quite honestly, it's a price I'd be willing to pay. So sign me up for genius-OCD.
