Punching above his weight?

A few of my friends have said that my boyfriend is punching above his weight with me. A few of his male friends have said it as well.

As flattered as I am I can't help but feel slightly insulted since they're basically saying I can do better and that my boyfriend is attractive. I actually think my boyfriend is pretty hot but they don't seem to think that. They just laugh when I say it. They have said he's handsome but i think that's just to make me feel better.

I'm not sure how to feel about this or how nt to let it get to me.
Anyone been in a similar situation?

It really is more so the fact that I feel they are insulting his looks. I shouldn't care but I do, I care about him and I hate the thought of him being insulted- especially his looks as he is quite self conscious about it!

A girl once told me that my partner is ugly and that I could do way better than her. I didn't understand because to me personally... she's like very very beautiful soo, i just gave her a cold look and told her to stay off. I suggest that you follow this. People talk shit behind us all the time, and even if they are saying this, ask them to shut the hell up because it's none of their business whom you go out with and it's not your fault that your boyfriend doesn't meet their "standards". This will be a bit rude, but what they are implying is even more so. I hope this helped :)

Well if you find him attractive nothing else should matter, especially whether your friends think he's hot or not.

I have been in the same situation before and the only thing that at bothers me is people insulting someone I care about.

If it bothers you, just tell them to stfu and mind their own business. That's pretty rude of them, to be honest.

if it still bothers you then just say, in front of your friends, that your bf to you is more handsome than any other male in this world
or just say to them that at least he's better than their's, ok i was joking about the last on, don't do that. :D

OK this is how I see advice from friends: if they tell me, my partner is ugly, I don't give a single shit.

If they tell me, he is bad for me though, I think, I really have to consider it.
