Is a slut the female equivalent of a player?

Just wondering because I don't know any other word for girls that means the same thing as a player. Girls don't get called players so I think the closest is "slut"?

Consider the outside connotations with each stereotype.

Player; Good looking, maybe the most attractive person in the world but use hair style and clothes to add their "beauty." Not just well of but actively wealthy and independent. Slick; unfazed by any situation, and charming; knows just the right thing to say.

Slut; Usually good looking but will always bring focus the most alluring aspects of their appearance which more often than not translates into boobs. Never pays for her own drinks, never seems to have a way home, and always seems between places and jobs. Has a good smile and laughs a lot.

You can equate each of these terms to just how much sex they have but that is just one of the many connotations that get associated with each of these terms. No a slut is not the female version of a player. The terms can be gender neutral. Though I suppose man whore and succubus would fit better.

There isn't a word or such a thing of being a "women player". A women can have a line stating "I wanna have sex" and over a hundred people would line up. A guy does that he may get one or two women and probably some men. A player plays with women's mind and has sex with them. Women don't have to do that just say they wanna have sex. It's easier for a women to get sex than a man thus a player for a man and no name for a women. The clostest thing women has is being a golddigger as they can con a man out of money, that's harder to do than getting him out his boxers.

I guess I'm weird, but yeah, I call those girls players. Mostly in a joking way, but still. I don't look down on women for sleeping with guys, and "slut" has an extremely negative connotation, so I don't use that word for women who are more like players.

No. There is no equivalent because players end up being praised by other guys for their "conquests" while sluts are shamed by fellow women.

No, a "tramp" is the female equalivalent of a player.

A slut has sex to fill some void in her life, whether it's it's her self esteem, need for male attention, etc.
A tramp USES sex to get what she wants. She USES guys for her own selfish desires. Players usually say sweet things to get a girl in bed but all of it is empty promises. Tramps do the same thing but to guys. All a tramp wants is the satisfaction of taking advantage of a guy, "conquering" him, and leaving him in emotional ruin, just like a players.

A guy can sleep around and its fine. a girl does it she's a slut. ALL THIS IS WRONG. Its human nature everyone eventually sleeps with someone. May it be in a relationship or not. Maybe the person don't want attachment because they got hurt. Who knows. It happens. There sex drive may be higher than most. Who are we to judge.

Helllll no... Granted she isn't morbidly obese or physically disfigured, any woman can get laid if she *decides* she wants to. It is *not* that way for men.

However, gold diggers ARE the female equivalent of a player.

In a way yes, for obvious reasons.

But in another quite important way, no. Because 'player' implies a level of skill. But 'slut' implies the opposite if anything: a girl that lacks skill; if she had skill she'd be in a relationship.

Men need skill to get sex. Once they have that skill, they're OK. Women need skill to get relationships (actually not really skill, more like knowledge). Sex comes easy.

No. You mentioned some players have multiple girlfriends and flirt a lot, so I guess an equivalent word is "cunt." Works for me. I contest that guys look up to players. Maybe in high school and in movies. Not much other than that.
A girl that sleeps around (slut) isn't remotely the same as a player. It takes some sort of skill for a guy to be a player. It doesn't take any to open your legs.

Promiscuous women are sluts. Promiscuous men are also sluts. Player denotes deception and can also be used by either gender. I've been mistaken for a player - I was actually a slut.
