Is 23 years old young?

to a 12 year old, no.
to a 46 year old, yes

... but it ultimately depends on the person and context

i've always felt that experience is a bigger indicator of maturity and youth than age. Some middle-age folks act like giant kids. I've seen teenagers that were jaded and cynical... exhausted from life--I was one of them, lol (well, in my adolescence actually)

The thing about experience too is, it's somewhat relative.
There are certain milestones and phases that society expects us to go through at certain ages. So if yo're in your 20's and haven't done some key things that most of your peers have done in their teens (or earlier), it can make you feel "old", because it feels like time's dragged on.

(like if your car breaks down on a highway with no city in site... it could feel like a million miles to get to civilization... when reality it's just your perspective)

Similarly, if you've done a lot with your life at a young age... you're used to that pace and drive, so time doesn't really wear on you as much.

Yes and no. You're an adult now and are expected to act like one. You know right from wrong, you should know how to take care of yourself. But, there are parts of the brain that do not stop developing until around age 25. Like the sector that controls emotions, for example. It's considered childish to allow your emotions to control you, but until that part of you has completed it's development, no one should really blame you for being kiddish once in a while. I still consider 23 young, but I also feel you deserve to be respected and treated as an adult, and access to the same opportunities that an older man would get.

24 is absolutely young. 30 is young. When it comes to your whole life, 20s and 30s are your youthful years. But to think about it another way, 24 for many people means they graduated high school, graduated four years of college, and then another two years have passed since then. So it's a time when you start to figure the real world out. You've done all your education, hopefully got a job, and are now working the grind. In that sense it's still young, but I think you are old enough that you have a bit more confidence and hang of things, where are in high school or college a person might be more scared of the world.

Are you asking is it too young for you to date a woman older, then I say no, cause any woman who would over look a guys maturity (like all the good things he's got going for himself) due to his age, then I say she's just shallow.

That's a good question. I suppose it depends on the type of situation or group of people you are with. For example, I'm 25 and considered a baby at my workplace. But during the summer I work at camps (I'm a teacher) and I'm considered old because most of the counselors are between the ages of 18 and 21.

Actually it depends on who are you really. People don't' believe young people also can handle things and even have advantage. But since you asked this question, that means you didn't have much confidence, and judged yourself from others eye, not good.

It's relative. When you are 23 you probably think you are old. When you are 30, you will think 23 is young. When you are 40, you will wish you were still 23. You get my drift.
