Once Bitten, Twice Shy, Third, You are too nice or stupid... thats sums it up?

so I was called by a former head of a place I volunteered at (for those who answered my questions, its where that chic who played me) Im doing it as a "favor". With everything I do, I do favors for someone, and when I do, I get bit in the rear. Am I stupid for going back to help along with my other crap sandwich, or should I just walk away?

sidebar: with all my volunteering I do and my real job. I take it seriously, the people I volunteer dont, they act like kids (juvenile - and rumor mongering with the females) Should I take it seriously as well? or just let the BS roll off my back because for their mess ups Im getting nailed for and I if I dont take is seriously I dont want to get jammed up. So there is my problem

I don't think you should let others affect how seriously you take your work or volunteer work. You volunteer because you care. Don't let others drag you down to where you don't care anymore... self-respect should always make you want to be the best, do the best.
Now, being a doormat is not what I'm suggesting... I'd never suggest something like that.
But you have to decide... is what you're doing actually helping people who need help, or is it just allowing others to walk all over others and take advantage?
There's a difference and if you're helping people who really need it, who cares what the other volunteers are doing - you just keep doing what's right.

Without context, I'm not sure if what I said made sense... I hope so!
