My mom won't let me use tampons?

im 16 and my mom doesn't want me to use tampons. is this normal? I thought most parents would let their daughter use tampons by now... she says that only married women should use tampons?

Married women? Ok I don't understand that but my advice to yu would be not to unless yu go swimming or wear a thong. I am 18 and I wear pads because tampons give me infections. I can't tell you how many times and how much money I've spent on antibiotics from infections from a tampon. I only use them when I wear thongs or when im swimming.

You're 16. Your mom should have no say in what products you use for your periods. Go buy some tampons and use them if you want to.

Settle for pads then. She might be concerned that you will be breaking your hymen by mistake. Mothers will be mothers. Can't win an argument with them. doesn't matter if you are 16 or 66.

Tampons don't take away your virginity. And the hymen can be broken by pretty much anything.

From what I heard, tampons are not usually advised for virgins. I guess your mom thinks you're virgin and probably heard something like this as well.
Anyway, that's just what I've heard. No idea if that's true or not.
