Guys, super prolonged eye contact?

Do you think super prolonged eye contact means anything?

Like if you both look up and make eye contact and hold it for several seconds (3-4) and then look away, and when you look back he is still looking, and then he looks away?

If this happens often would you think it means anything? Do you do this to girls you like?

If we are doing something we generally have a reason and if you are an attractive girl around our age then it should come as no surprise that we are staring at you because we are interested in something.

well, I thought that might change things because it wasn't like he was across the room from me. I was just directly in front of him. I don't know I just thought that might be a factor :)

I think it means he is interested in something and not so shy about it given the proximity that this took place. He was planning to get caught.

haha. this has happened a couple times before. At first I thought he was trying to have a staring contest because he was looking for so long so I laughed but he didn't and then I was confused. He's not very confident so it is surprising.

I does mean that a girl has caught my attention, but I don't talk to them unless there's a reason.
If you toss in a wink or inviting gesture, then I might approach. Depends if I'm busy or not.

I usually look away and within a few seconds look back.

But what you just explained could be a sign of interest. Every guy is different so maybe he shows interest that way. I personally always look away the moment I make eye contact with anyone.

Most of the time I don't. but it's only ever with him and we just hold eye contact for a long time (I usually look away first though.)
