I understand, and I don't blame you for feeling hurt and inadequate given that people have told you those things, but you are old enough now to realize that what those people have told you all those years is CRAP - it's THEIR OWN insecurities that are the problem - they're trying to make you feel inferior in order to make themselves feel superior, and that's BULLSHIT.
There is nothing wrong with you, and the best thing you can do is get away from those toxic people and find some good, supportive friends. Your self-esteem will rocket up once you're away from all that negativity.

Maybe getting some professional help may help. I say this because there was a time when how I looked and what others said about it mattered, but today, I love who I am and what I have because I dealt with the issues at hand. What other's think of me is none of my business is my motto... So I hope that you see this as positive encouragement that any person who thinks less of you is projecting their own insecurities on you, so that they feel better about themselves. Good Luck...

Being in school and having no job may benefit you "now" to get help with your depression because a lot of programs offer help for that particular criteria. Contact your local county health department and they may have some direction for you. Hope this is helpful.
