My parents found out I got caught shoplifting. How do I gain their trust again?

2 weeks ago I got caught shoplifting makeup at Target. Im 18, so they didn't call my parents. They just took my information down and let me go thankfully.
Today I got sent a civil letter that I knew was coming, I was going to pay for it. I made the dumb decision so I was willing to take the consequences and pay. I did not tell my parents this whole time. I reflected on my dumb decision for the past 2 weeks, started attending bible study and started forgiving myself, praying and etc. Ofc my parents got the letter today and flipped out. They are completely disappointed in me. I am too but they are not talking to me and would not let me attend the concert that I was going to go to tomorrow. (Im fine with that honestly, guess I deserve it) My only thing is, at this point, my parents won't let me go anywhere. They want me home and to sit in my pity and dwell on my mistakes. Iv'e already accepted everything for what it is. I do not dwell on my past, I learned my lesson and moved on from the situation. I don't know what to do, what to say to them. Help?

How much do you have to pay them according to the letter and what was the worth that you attempted to steal? There really isn't anything you can do to them. They are disappointed and are questioning where they went wrong with you. You stole, you did wrong, serve out the punishment they are trying to give you or move out.

It was a 7 dollar lipgloss and the fine is $150. Yeah, I know. Lol thanks.

That's not too bad a fine lol a friend of mine stole two candy bars, got away with it, but took them back because his girlfriend made him feel guilty. He had to pay almost $500!

There really isn't mich you can do other then wait it out. You already said you're going to pay it. That's a start. Maybe you should consider getting a job and buying things. It'll reflect better on you and they'll see that you're trying to make amends.

just accept your punishment and wait it out. nothing else to do. they'll move on eventually. just dont steal again lol
