How does anyone actually get away with stealing money from their parents?

I've seen a couple videos about teens or even young adults stealing up to $1000 or more from their parents' hard-working money. The parents' reaction is usually shocked, in tears or trying to lecture them. Seriously? How does anyone actually get away with that and the parents doing nothing?

If I stole $1000+ from my parents at any age (never done it), apart from the guilt if I weren't caught... lets just say I would get into real BIG trouble with them. And it wouldn't be just a ''You know it's not nice to steal'' long lecture nor the ''lets humiliate our child'' technique to teach them.

They would be in absolutely NO mood to apply creative nor elaborated humiliation methods. They would be straight to the point, get it done and over with... I would be screwed.

I agree with you, if I ever stole from my uncle I know he would be so disappointed in me and I would feel tremendous amounts of guilt. I don't know how anyone could live with themselves after that. My uncle would probably slap me in the face and maybe even tell me to leave which I would deserve after all he's done for me.

yes it's sad how there are so many ungrateful young people. While several children on other places of the world are suffering from starving (don't even have bread to eat) and are homeless, they should be glad they have a roof, they have clothes, their parents feed them, give them a comfortable life, etc. Yet some are still complaining about not getting PS5 or some other trivial stuffs... so they steal from their parents to get it... so sad.

My uncle adopted me when I was 13 he literally saved me from being abused further. I was so grateful that he was the only person that stepped up and took me in. If he hadn't I honestly don't know where I would be today maybe dead. I was and still am grateful for what he did. I didn't care if I didn't have video games to play with at that time the fact that I had a roof over my head my own bed and food to eat and a loving uncle was all I needed. I owe that man my life and have done and will do anything for him. He's truly amazing!! I'm not saying that kids need to go through what I went through to be appreciative of what they have just so many kids get everything handed to them now they don't have to work for it so they really don't know the value of what they have. No responsibility for their own actions. My younger brother doesn't have all the latest video games either. My uncle wants him to spend at least 2 hours every day outside playing with his friend.
