Is $30 an hour for a 21 year old good pay?

I'm asking because a lot of people are pressuring me to finish my degree. I'm not taking the job for the money, but rather me being on a schedule. It's not a stressful job at all and I love working there.

good enough if its the rate per hr.. well if you can work for 8hrs. not bad at all for part timers.. don't let pressures from certain people drain you.. relax, enjoy, and stay focus.. remember don't work to just earn.. work to LEARN.. later on you if you have enough experiences you can establish your own business.. enrich yourself to have time as well as financial freedom.. keep it up pal that passion. :)

Its reasonably ok, I mean you can afford a new car and squeeze in a down payment if you want too... with good money management you can make it by nicely with 30 an hour. Plus not to mention you can creep up to 40-50 eventually if your starting at 30

But I wouldn't say its amazing either

Meaning I work full-time and go to school part time. I don't need a degree for this job either.

A degree is valuable in many ways. Depends which degree uour doing. Your education will allow you too push up the ladder. Say you did a MBA, that would easily boost you up in the job your doing

i would hope that there are opportunities for you to move up in the company get promotions and raises etc...
But if you think this is the best path you can take go for it, especially if you enjoy working there and can see yourself doing this for years to come

Yea 30$ an hour is really good money, factory work doesn't even pay that much they pay like 22$ an hour max for standard workers. So if your making 30$ an hour I'd say you got yourself a pretty good job your probably making more then a lot of the guys on here.

It depends on how much you're working and what type of pay that is.

Obviously if you're only working minimal hours, it's decent but people working steady hours at less of an hourly rate could make more. And if this is lump payment or you're getting paid as some sort of contractor, it comes back in the end when taxes catch up with you.

The standard of living is significantly higher in NYC or any major cities. It's just that I'm mid semester for my degree and I'm more motivated to get things done when I'm working rather than just going to school full-time. I get it for free cause I'm prior service, but my father thinks I should just get my degree as fast as possible, but I have to be on a schedule.

I live in NYC there are not many guys making more then you unless they come from a wealthy family.
So being in college and making $30 an hour is pretty impressive.

The thing is that I'm taking day classes so I might have to drop this semester because I start in 2 weeks. I get college for free (military) so I'm in no debt whatsoever.

I agree. However, I'm more motivated to get things accomplished if I'm on a schedule. I'm currently talking to my professors and it seems like they will let me finish.

To be honest, I literally do nothing. I'm a government contractor for the Air Force and we only have 8 airplanes so most of the time it's just going in and joking around with the guys until an airplane is in the hangar for inspection. It's the most stress free job ever.

What sort of credentials do you have to have in order to get a job like that?

It's full-time National Guard. You still need people to operate the base even though National Guard is that one weekend a month 2 weeks a year. So you would have to enlist in the Air Guard and then apply when a slot opens.
