My raw honey is covered by dead ants!!! Is it still safe to consume?

I bought a jar of raw honey. Apparently I didn't close the lit tightly the last time I used it. The next day I opened it, I found bunch of dead ants in the lit as well as inside the jar, covered the honey on top of it. This is so annoying! I got rid of the ants eventually, anyway Is it still safe to consume?

Eh, scrape 'em out and you should be fine. Honey is too thick for stuff to easily move around, so them and all the gross stuff should only be on the surface. But it's also just honey.

Side note, honey makes a great antiseptic. If you cut yourself open, honey will decrease healing times and reduce scarring.

yuck. But you can eat ants so that isn't the issue. I guess it just depends on how gross you think it is to eat the honey with dead ants in it. it won't hurt you.

Not a good idea. Throw it away. You don't know what kind of diseases the ants could have brought with them. The acid from their bodies could have gotten into the honey, which can cause severe irritation.

I wouldn't recommend it. Just get another jar and cut your losses.

Ants might carry diseases they walk on feces , the ground, i don't think i
would consume it.
