Even though I love tigers, I'm gonna pick the baboons. The tigers are way out numbered. Baboons also have very sharp canine teeth. By the way I don't know why 5 tigers would be together anyway. Tigers are solitary animals. The only times they usually come together is to mate or when they're cubs. Most tigers are very territorial and would fight with tresspassers. Anyway, baboons can be highly agressive and even big cats are wary of large troops. If necessary the baboons could just reatreat to the trees, and they also have a big advantage: OPPOSABLE THUMBS. Primates are the best tool users in the wild. They could just throw sticks, stones, and fruits at the tigers until the tigers backed down. So I'd say the baboons win.
I came prepared for this; I said Assuming both groups were heated af, meaning that ignoring their natures, so the solitary tiger thing doesn't matter, especially in some ridiculous hypothetical situation. I disagree that they are outnumbered; I feel 5 tigers bringing in a combined weight of nearly 4000lbs would destroy a troop bringing in a combined weight of 500lbs. The tree argument would work if the tiger weren't a jungle cat, and that's assuming enough fled the scene during the massacre, and assuming that the tigers didn't just bum rush the tree and lay game down. The baboon can throw sticks all it wants, but it'll have to come down sometime to restock its inventory, and guess who is waiting in the bushes? Team Tiger, mawfuuuuh.
I'm aware that tigers are jungle cats and fully capable of climbing trees. But baboons can just jump from tree to tree to avoid them or move to higher weaker branches where the tigers can't get to them.
You know that they're are fruits that grown on trees right? There should be plenty to eat and they can just use branches as ammo.
The baboons there are 50 of them and only 5 tigers. Yeah tigers are strong but against 50 baboons. I don't think they have a chance
Me!! :D
And the tigers :D
So, you're saying 30 Baboons

Fifty baboons, they have so many more advantages besides outnumbering them ten to one...
Tigers have a need for food that drives their thought process, while baboons are very similar to humans and share 90% of the DNA make up as humans. With gives then the same thought process and allows them to use logic. Logic being the key to me siding with the baboons and I thing baboons intellectually beat tigers in every way and what kind of tiger is it? The traditional Bengal Tiger? Or the far more muscular Siberian Tiger? But either way I think baboons are much more intelligent and cooperative for the tigers to handle even if you added another tiger to the mix.
They're baboons; They're not thinking the way a human is going to think. Show me a baboon planning guerilla warfare, studying a tiger's behaviour and manipulating their environment/the tiger's natural instincts to defeat it.
Baboons are walking through the plains; The tigers, with their bodies perfect for hiding and stalking, stalk them. Being stalkers, they wait for the moment to pounce, and then.. BOOM! The tigers pounce; 5 baboons get murdered instantly, since tigers' roars paralyze animals. Immediately the baboons freak out and run for a bit to get away, turn around, and now it's 45 to 5; The tigers are now ready for the second ambush and give chase. Baboons can run at about 30MPH, whereas tigers can clock in at 40MPH. The tigers attacking again will cause some baboons to sprint to some trees to relocate, but there goes 5 more baboons. We're now at 40 to 5, and both parties are tired from running and climbing. The tigers then run and hide, ready to re-pounce.
Your not giving the primates credit here, and as you probably know baboons are hyper, they're routy, they wouldn't just run off when attracted they would freak out and attack back, now you have found the animals and they, as tigers aren't running away, baboons are also vicious they gonna straight up bite that tiger on the ass or any where they could get close enough to sink their teeth at and they can hold on to a mobile tiger with opposable thumbs. And a tiger can'tbreally defend it self from 4 Baboons that are attacking at the same time, tigers where not meant to be in open confrontations as the only predator they truly fear are humans the don't have adaptations to fight against animals they have adaptations to hunt so putting them in an open fight severely hurts a tigers advantages as they are no longer hunting they now have to worry about defending their own body something tigers haven't learned how to adapt to. As baboons they have confrontations with everything even each other..
They know what to defend when to move to avoid an attack and basic defenses that tigers don't have that's why I gotta chose team Baboon. #primatemasterrace
Baboons also understand the importance of not sustaining an injury, and would have to first recognize the threat and plan the attack, which would be difficult to do right after an ambush. Also, expanding on the point about sustaining a wound, animals typically don't go bananas and rush things when attacking, they typically just dance around and watch each other, waiting for the right moment to strike. They would scatter for a bit; They'd want to preserve their lives first and foremost, and if 2 attacks were to happen back to back, they wouldn't be given a chance to enter their aggressive stage because their primary objective is to live.
Neither cuz the baboon instinct is flight, not fight so they'd run up the trees to escape.
But baring an option to escape, the tigers would still kick their ass.
Tigers ftw
Baboons, too many of them
