Does the Disney movies the Lion King and Tarzan take place in Africa?

I'm not sure about Tarzan. But the Lion King, it's safe to say it does take place in Africa. Only because of the lions and hyenas and Swahili words "Hakuna Matata" which is a phrased used in east Africa. Mainly Kenya and Tanzania.

The lion king is a 1994 creation purely by Disney. It's based on Shakespeare's play Hamlet but set in Africa using animals.
