What is great about the term is the word "boy". It isn't a man, he's treating girls like objects and things for him to use. He's an immature self centered (narcissistic?) and probably wounded emotionally weak... boy!
Why... because that type of wounded personality (of which I may write a mytake on soon) ... attracts girls... it hits on the nature of girls... girls mis-perceive his "confidence", not caring attitude as emotional strength (e. g. he can't be distorted by the girls emotional stuff and games... which makes him look strong and thus a great candidate to mate with). It is mis perception from the girls view point. He is also good looking (e. g. possibly rough or handsome) and his hormones are raging so he starts going after and getting girls at a young age... he's got two things that girls like (they feel secure because he seems strong and he desires them). Once there is one, he wants more... why would he keep that one girl when there are many to choose from.. remember he's really a selfish undeveloped emotionally male. Why eat one dessert from the table when you can sample hundreds?
Girls love guys that are socially accepted so once one girl falls, more will follow. some will put up their boundaries as they hear the rumors... but he'll score many "direct hits" so to speak before some woman slays him and crushes him!:)

Because there are plenty of girls who will fuck them. It's a game to them and builds their ego. They are probably actually very insecure and fucking many girls is their way to confirm their own desirability. Now that's not true for all but for a lot it is.
Being good looking and being able to persuade are like special priviledges or powers granted to them. And they use it for their own advantage but they are misusing it for wrong reasons.
you know what's even worse... I started liking the not so good looking guys thinking they won't be fuckboys. And guess who was wrong LOOL tragic

Simple: all the girls want them, so they have endless choices with women. That means they are free to use women and throw them away when they're finished with them, whether that's 20 minutes or a few months. All the other women know exactly who they are, that they've used countless women before her, yet they're still completely willing to get with those guys, all hoping that SHE will be the one to change him, because SHE is somehow special.
Obviously, a few girls will avoid such men - like you did - but most of those still WANTED to get with those guys even if they were smart enough not to. Most girls aren't that smart, nor do they learn from their mistakes. Instead, they follow their feelings, time and time again, and get hurt, time and time again.
Why do the guys do this? Because THEY CAN. They feel completely entitled to, because all the girls let them. And they have zero respect for any of those girls, because they know the girls get with him even knowing his history.
While there are always a few exceptions, the vast majority of the most attractive men are exactly this way and always will be - and women will still always throw themselves at such men.
As a guy who has girls make fuck boy judgements of me because of my looks, I can say with confidence that you are all confusing social status and/or good looks, and just looks alone. It makes me laugh because girls often avoid good looking guys, even they are nice and genuine because they are scared of getting cheated on, but the reality is they all go for guys with higher social status. Which equals more nights out, more friends who are girls (more opportunity to cheat) and lots of other risks. Girls just subconsciously associate good looks with this behavior, but the reality is that it's the high social statues men (good looking or not) that are fuckboys. As a guy who's been called very handsome by many for a long time, I can say with confidence that social status is wjere girls fall. Go for a guy who isn't in a big social group going out all the time. Use logic, not physical assumptions
Same reason a most hot girls are bitches: they don't have to develop a decent personality or brains because people will desire them regardless. Now, this is a vast generalization, and many people who look good are also wonderful and smart people. We call those people "keepers".

They know they are good looking and know that if they piss a girl off then it doens't matter cos they could get another girl with a click of thier fingers
Because they've experienced girls being shallow and mainly being interested in them because of their looks- they see women as superficial and easy so they don't think they're deserving of respect, hence they fuck them around.
Because that's just how it is. But one advice I'll tell you: never be interested enough to change him. If he's like that to others, he is not going to change.
