Why do I keep dreaming about people from high school when I wasn't even friends with them?

Dreams are based on association, no matter how loosely tied to your conscience brain they are. Most of things, people and places, we see in our dream, even though when may not recognize them in our dreams we have seen them in real life. So if you see a guy in your dream who you think you have no idea who it is, it could be that store clerk at the 7/11 you went to once 5 years ago. It doesn't really matter if you were close or not, if the brain made an association with someone then they very well have a chance of showing up in your dreams.
