My Parents Won't Teach Me How to Drive?

I live with my mom and she has extreme anxiety when it comes to driving, and won't teach me how. I go to my dad's house on weekends but I get a maximum of 45 minutes of practice each week and 90% of that is on the interstate, and it's the same road every week. My driving test is coming up in less than two months and I'm not confident in my skills at all. It's really frustrating knowing you aren't a good driver and not being able to do anything about it. Any suggestions?

You might want to try driving school if your parents will pay or that you think you could earn the money. Maybe you should try learning from an experienced friend family member. Especially someone who's older.

Yeah I thought about asking my sister but I'm not sure how my mom would feel about that

ask your dad if you're good enough to go on different roads.

Maybe ask your dad if you can drive more. If not then maybe ask your mom if you can just start taking the car around the block or whatever. At the very least so you can learn how to park

I feel you on dad. my dad is relunctant as well. Guess we both have to use money and hire tutors.

I can't find any driving lessons in my city and we can't leave the city because my mom doesn't drive on interstates (due to her driving anxiety). Oh the irony.

Can your dad drive you? If you have no way of getting to a driving school your best bet would be to just ask your dad if you can drive more

The closest one seems to be three hours away and he already lives almost an hour away in the other direction. We don't really have the type of relationship where I can ask him to take me places or let me do things. I know that's awful but that's just how it is haha.

Talk to your Dad. My parents ended up having to pay for driver's lessons.
