I'm just curious. Some people thinks all Europeans are white, but other thinks South-European aren't white, but just Europeans and Caucasoid. I'm wondering what GAG thinks. Do you see all dark skinned Africans as black and do you see all Asians as yellow? Or is there exception for some African and Asian groups/country? Do you think Mediterranean generally are white or not?
My opinion: I thinks the black, white, yellow etc. labels are stupid as I've mentioned earlier in another question. Very few people are literally these colors and most people are either pink, beige or different shades of brown. I uses these ridiculous labels because there's not other short simple words in the language. Mediterranean people are in general speaking not white in my opinion. Many South-Europeans, South-east-Europeans and some other groups that's considered white have dark features. Many are tan/olive skinned/brown, have dark hair and eyes. There is no such thing as pure white or black or any colour really. We have differing pigments because of geography originally. It's like when people tan, even "black" people get darker when they are in the sun for longer periods of time. So does this mean that a "white" person turns Arabic or their culture changes because they are getting darker? Then they go back home to their less sun-drenched climate, and they turn "whiter". So does this mean that their culture is returning or some shit?
Or bullshit ideas that I'm less "black" because I don't talk hood or I hang with lighter skinned people and that I don't listen to hip hop or r&b 24/7. I blame the bullshit media and movies and just entertainment really for how images of differing cultures and stereotypes have polluted people's minds. We don't think for ourselves that a human is an individual. A human also is the RACE. Colour is not a race. Colour is something I learned in kindergarten so I can differentiate that the sky is blue and the trees are green. Even then, I've learned that colour is an illusion that our brains create with our eyes because we are led to believe that a tree is green. This coupled with the fact that green is the only colour that a tree leaf does not absorb, makes the tree leaf look green. Where in reality, everything around us is bombarded with every colour in the spectrum. So really, we are all human, but of different body shades because of the amount of melanin our bodies produce, from history geography and ancestry. The closer your ancestors lived to the equator, which is the closest our earth gets to the sun, the darker your skin is, since melanin is the bodies defense for your skin against radiation damage from the sun. The farther you are away from the equator, the less your body is exposed to the direct sun and so your level of melanin is less and your body is a lighter shade. THERE IS NO WHITE. THERE IS NO BLACK. THERE IS NO YELLOW.
I can't believe we are still talking about this shit in this century. Just yesterday I was in a town an hour away from my city, and myself and my family had people giving use that "look" at times like we were from another planet or something. That look to say, "what are THOSE people doing here?" It also could be the fact that my wife is lighter skinned or "white" if you prefer, I'm "black" or darker complexion and my kids are of the mixture. It boggles my mind this attitude or ignorance to the fact that
yeah I look different, but I'm not a different species. I was born the same way. I have a belly button. I eat food, almost identically to the way you do, and probably the same exact food most times. I am almost positive I breath oxygen, never been told otherwise. The last time I checked my blood is red and my organs are similar to the rest of you humans of this world. I may have more or less than others. I'm miserably sure I have to pay taxes and work for a living to survive, but I'm searching for other means and I'm open to other ideas if it means I can survive without monetary funds. Oh and my career was determined by my level of education and it had to be of a specific, and a very high level, to warrant the income I'm getting, although, like I said before, the taxes I pay is taking a good chunk of my hard earned money. I'm pretty sure I treat my wife and kids as people I love more than myself. At least they feel I'm worthy of their love and respect.
Last time I checked, I'm not with any gang. I've yet to wield a gun against anyone. I have no idea though one of my parents says that they are white with brown spots (pale with freckles- very little tan). I wouldn't say that races exist (we are all of the human race) but I'd say that people are either pink, brown, orange, or somewhere in between. I mean it's like dog breeds and cat breeds. I mean, technically they are the same species but people want certain types or a preference for certain coat colours yet when we say the type of breed we always end up saying the coat colour of the animal if we are describing it to someone because us as humans seem to love to categorize things the same as with physical descriptors of our own race. If I was to describe how someone looks I'd be at a loss for words because of what people deem offense physical descriptors and what aren't. So I'd stick to child descriptors of basic colours.
Stupid. Humans are human and that's that. I'm mixed ethnically and I don't believe in race. But I do believe people have different nationalities and that's it. It means nothing. And saying ignorant thing can cause a lot of problems. There are dark skinned Europeans just like there are Dark skinned Asians and even East Asians. It's about where you are. Close to the equator? Diet switch? Expect to be darker. Further up north and the cold? Expect to come out pale.
I'm a southeast european/ mediterranean and I agree with you. There are differences. What you said is true - generally people here tend to be more tan/olive skin shade as opposed to northern europeans who tend to be paler. The cultures are different as well.
Errm... Race. Thought it is quite ambiguous. If you say someone is black he is likely mostly black. With this, comes skin color but also other distinct traits like nose eye shapes etc. Arab is another and Asian is an other. Notice how these are named a lot by geographics. Now we have planes, modern politics and cars so there may be a lot of crossbreeding. This is why I say it gets ambiguous and you can't say a person is, say, caucasian. Cuz he is likely a mix of a lot of stuff. Especially in america. If you think crossbreeding sounds bad, well, your nuts. There are very apparent physical differences in different races of humans and god damn, some girls that are clearly not the same race as me, I find very hot! Some arab and some Asian. Also, I noticed I really like girls of different hair color than mine. Black women have probly the most potential for a killer body but it is a bit too hardcore for me. The black skin that is, I can't put my finger on it but its like no. Kim Kardashian has a black women's body. There is also a thing where photoshop artists create some golden ratio faces by averaging out models of different race. And usually, you will find the hottest women are not a so called pure race.
Scientifically, nobody of course has completely black or white skin. So calling people black and white is wrong since the pigments differs based on genetics and geographical location.
I pretty much never use the words 'black' or 'white' when describing people. I usually use the Dutch equivalent of light skin or dark skin. Neither do I ever use the word 'Caucasian' when describing myself or anybody else, I do know what it means. It's just a group based on cranial morphology and skeleton shape so completely meaningless to me.

Mongoloids: "yellow" skinned people the the slanted style eyes. Also darker skinned with similar facial features (Thais, Indonesians, Malaysians). Native American Indians and pacific islanders are also mongoloids.
right, so I find it stupid that we call them different races because there's only one actual race within humans and that's the human race. I will say though that different skin colours tend to have advantages, black skin tends to deal with heat the easiest.
But you said most Mediterraneans are brown and tan. In my opinion South-Europeans and South-East-Europeans in general speaking are darkies. Many have black hair, brown eyes and is brown skinned. Most people in the world are dark. South-Europeans, South-East-Europeans, Asians, Africans, Middle-eastern, Aborigines etc. are dark; from slightly dark to very dark. It's mostly North-Europeans and Western-Europeans who's light. The closest to white is blondes and people with albino.
I think people who dont consider south europeans as white are truly retarded. There are many italians and spaniards more pale than some swedish or norwegians.
I'm not saying it applies to everyone, but it definitive applies to many. I've seen more dark South-Europeans and South-East-Europeans than North- and West-Europeans. It's some brown people in the north too due immigration, but the majority there is light and the majority in the south is darker than the north.
In my opinion, people from Europe, the Middle East, West Asia, and some northern Indians and Pakistanis are white. I have a very broad image of who's Caucasian, but that's just me

I don't care about the definition of different races, because they're COMPLETELY subjective, and not even easily defined genetically. What I DO think has more bearing is ethnicity, since cultural origin is at least a bit more objective.

Im American black n white people refer to eachother as black and we do white only races here that go by what they actually are would be Hispanic and Asian cause there are so many different kinds
