Their sheer, natural beauty. The color of their bark, leaves, the mystery. The science. The lessons in patience and determination that can be taught simply by thinking of a life of a tree. The history embedded in their rings.

They are simply my favorite part of being alive.

That they're not sentient. Imagine if they could think? They'd likely value community more over individuality which means we'd have some three trillion communists on our hands.

They're magical. Living things that spend their entire life at the exact spot where they were born (unless of course they were dug out and planted elsewhere). The colours, the smell, the way they help the world survive... Absolutely fantastic!

Two things I like most about trees:
a. They provide shelter for many (different kinds of) animals.
b. They absorb environmental carbon dioxide and convert them into oxygen.
