While there are a handful of listenable songs, the majority of modern rap/trap songs are nothing but glorifying the absolute WORST aspects of ghetto culture as if they were something to aspire to. It isn't cute, and it's not rebellious - it's unacceptable.

My boyfriend loves it because I was in choir for a few years so I can hit a wide range of notes and I'm good a memorizing lyrics so I can teach him the word in the right timing

Music is a pretty huge part of my life. I listen A LOT and go to many many different concerts. I reeeeally don't like Trap music, so while it wouldn't be a dealbreaker, it definitely wouldn't be a good thing.
