lol YES its a rap video, and I love this guys image but that doesn't mean i'll copy his image.
If I put a rap song around women, no matter where I am or what we are doing they always complain about rap...
But if you listen to the words and the story, he is sending a much better message than most of the music that is on our radios today but this is just an example. Music has a huge pshycological influence on peoples lives and Rap music has always been my favorite because it educated me in so many ways its too hard to explain.

I don't like it because it just sounds like rambling and I prefer lyrics that I wouldn't have to rewind 500x to finally get. Rap seems to be the only genre where the performers aim to speak as fast as possible and I'm more in tune with other genres. Plus the biggest reason I'm not a fan of the genre is because they don't really put any effort into instrumentals. They just get a "beat" and go with it. Plus if you ask anyone what rap is about they'll tell you it's about "being a thug in the streets" or "guns" or using women and all that so they're gonna think you find that to be "education."

The biggest laugh about the genre is seeing rapper doing concerts when they literally just play their CD and try to rap over their own lyrics and you can even hear the lyrics going over the speakers while they're trying to rap out the lyrics already playing over the speakers as they hop around all uncoordinated. Last I remember people went to concerns to see a band (including the instruments involved) actually perform the song, not just play it over the speakers and try to ramble over it.

Because most of them listen the bs on the radio instead of the talented artist who actually write their own lyrics and don't fill their songs with generic shit. Most people who don't really follow Hip-Hop will say things like, "I only listen to Eminem because doesn't rap about hoes and stuff and actually has deep lyrics"  Even though their are plenty of legit rappers out like Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, Rakim, Hopsin, J Cole, Ab-Soul, Nas, Jay Electronica, Immortal Technique, Killer Mike, Logic, Common, Brother Ali, and a whole bunch more.  Hollywood has really corrupted mainstream Hip-Hop :/  the under is leading the way though :D And nice choice in video man, people sleep on Hopsin  His ill mind series is just beautiful. Hop's 7th ill mind is my favorite I love Hip-Hop so much.. I glad it's global :')

I get what you're saying about how rap can send a different message. I think most girls get that. Personally, I'm not a fan of rap because I find it kind of repetitive and I usually can't understand half of what the person is saying. I also like songs that I can easily dance or sing along to and I can't do that with most rap songs. Girl's are more sensitive (duh haha) and usually overthink things more than guys do, so we tend to like music we can relate to or music that matches our mood, and for some reason rap is just not a girly thing. I'm not saying all rap is bad, I just don't like the really fast paced rap with tons of stuff going on during the song. Everyone is different though and everyone has a different opinion. I like the messages that a lot of rappers try to bring to everyone's attention. Rap definitely has the potential to pretty much be like poetry. Powerful, raw, inspiring and thought provoking. But at the same time, so many (mainstream) rap artists are extremely shallow and only rap about money, fame, sex, "hoes/bitches" etc. That's the kind of rap that I really dislike, and it ruins other rappers' reputation.
In general, rap is not really something I listen that much to. I just don't really enjoy the sound of it, you know? Even if the message is beautiful. The video you linked to was interesting to watch/listen to, though. But it's still not something I'd listen to on a daily (or even monthly) basis lol.

Rap was poetry. Just listen to 2Pac for example, he's music was art, his lyrics were simply amazing, something we rarely here nowadays, well, I've yet to listen to someone write something as powerful as 2Pac did.
Nowadays many Rap music has no meaning, it's just meant to dance, the beat is the only thing that matters. And don't get me wrong, it's fun, but when your whole album is exactly the same, it gets boring.
I love Rap music, it's my favorite genre, it helped me through my tough times, so it's something that's in me, but it saddens me that today we don't have real Rap but some bunch of people that rap about anything totally unrelated to what Rap was about in its beginning.

I like rap, but I like to be told a story. Money, cars, hoes and being in the trap get a old quick. I look for rappers that put effort into their lyrics. Rappers that put themselves into their lyrics. Rappers that leave a message behind. Like Common, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar.

I also like lyrical rappers. That use a lot of word play in their lyrics. Ludacris is good with that. And of course Eminem.

I appreciate all music. I'm a writer at the end of the day and so are these musicians. So even if I don't always like what they're saying, I can respect their talent.

I love Rap, Hip-Hop, Rock, and EDM. Each style gives a different feel and hits a different emotion from inside and projects it through lyrical master pieces. Rap is something that you usually hate or love. You need to listen deep into the lyrics to understand. So many people hate it because they assume they only rap about sex, drugs and money. But if they took the time they would find that not all rap is about that. Some rappers use their music to tell a story that you can relate to or learn from their experiences. I have a rapper who is my inspiration. His raps were able to give me comfort and gave me hope that things will get better. I have his picture as my lock screen, home screen and the back picture of my texts. Seeing him helps remind me of his words. I have mad respect for rappers because they have some serious skill by spilling lyrics so fast. Another thing I like about rap is that they use a large vocabulary for their rhymes to flow.

I personally love rap music. Each artist has their own way of portraying their thoughts with the art of rhymes. I think people focus ln the curse words instead of everything else. There are rap artist who are very talented and others who prefer to rap about sex, drugs and trapping. In the end is all music and the message is in the hands of the artist and what he wants to do with his creativity.

I don't like it because I'm very emotionally connected to music. The rythem, tones and almost always the lyrics in rap are unsettling to me. It doesn't give me peaceful, happy or energetic vibes and it really isn't that great for my angry or depressed moods either. I appreciate that some people love it but it really isn't my thing.

It has nothing to do with being a woman, I personally don't like rap music because I can't relate to it and it's just not my lifestyle. I grew up on a farm, driving trucks, raising cattle, and I live in a rural town. So, country music just makes much more sense to me.

That doesn't mean I can't appreciate the talent that some rappers may have though. I know a lot of people compare it to poetry, it's just simply not my thing.

Yes, rap is poetry a form of non violent self expression. TODAY'S mainstream rap is a mosh pit of hate, ego, sexist, violence, and greed. I do have rap songs I like, but those are few. I mainly listen to rap to get a good vibe for maintaining a great pace during my workouts. Even then it isn't the rapping it's the beats.

because most popular rap sucks. most of the crap played on mtv and the radio is extremely violent and generally distespectful toward women. usually the only women who do listen to that have little to no respect for themselves and/or are too ignorant/uneducated to actually comprehend the words/messages being spoken in mainstream rap.

I listen to rap a lot. I'm an adult so I understand that its entertainment and a lot of the over sexualized lyrics are for shock value. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how sometimes they diss dark black women or the ones who wear weaves. Also I can relate to some of the content
