Why are short girls considered more attractive than tall girls?

I'm a tall girl and I always feel bad about being tall... I always wish I was shorter, i so wish there was a way to change my height. because of my height I have a super long torso and long skinny legs which don't look good in my opinion. and guys seem to like short girls and short girls like tall guys. i have tried pursuing short guys about 5'4-5'7 but none of them wanted a girl taller than them.
Are there any other reasons why we are considered less attractive? also is it true that short girls are more feminine and have more estrogen?

I personally think it has to do with the simple fact that smaller women look more "protectable".
The bigger you are, the more self-sufficient you look.

A short woman seems like someone who would benefit from a man's protection.
A woman who is as tall as the man, or even taller than him, looks like someone who wouldn't benefit a whole lot from the man because she is probably about as "strong" as he is.

I would think the evolution wants us to benefit from each other, ideally by pairing us in the most complementary way possible.
Which in this case would mean pairing smaller women with bigger men.

I personally find long skinny legs to look great, although I would definitely suffer some internal struggle fancying a woman if she was 5'11 or taller.
I find it curious why you would try to pursue short guys, though.
I don't know how tall you are, but I assume 5'4 and 5'7 guys would be a lot shorter than you, no?

I'm 6'0 ft tall. whats the problem with pursuing a short man? I liked how they look and their personality and I don't know it never crossed my mind that 'wow they're sooo short i can't pursue him'. Believe me I've pursued tall guys too, it's not about height but if I'm attracted to him or not.
I've found out that short guys and tall guys mostly go for short women. so that leaves me with What? lol I don't know... it also doesn't help that short women go for tall guys mostly. i have no height preference and I'm still intimidating and huge.
Why would you suffer an internal struggle being attracted to a tall woman? That's what I wanna know about guys who like short girls.

There is nothing wrong with pursuing a short man, but that much of a reverse size difference is bound to be a problem for a lot of people.

I know a lot of people who wouldn't be ok with the reverse size difference.
I know women who proclaim that men who are shorter than them are "disgusting" and that they would never date one.
I even heard cases of tall women walking out on their dates because they didn't realize that their date was shorter.
So, I imagine, people are cautious when it comes to height differences, and it will take some patience.

I'm only 5'9, so admittedly, I would never go after a 6ft tall woman, simply because I would automatically assume that they would prefer someone taller.
That is why I would suffer a struggle.
Because said 6ft person is still attractive and still has an attractive personality, but what if my height is a total deal-breaker for them?
"is my height a problem for you?" isn't exactly a good conversation starter, either.

A lot if men find it intimidating when a woman is taller than them. It scares away some guys. Sadly society indirectly puts a lot of pressure on the man having to be taller than the woman. Don't worry about skinny legs or a long torso, don't see any problem with it. In other words, it's not about being less attractive. Don't see the link between short girls being more feminine and having more estrogen. You seem to be a bit insecure about it. Don't see any reason as to why you should be.

I don't think you got what I ment by that, but I didn't explain that well either. By that I was trying to say that it is not you personally, there is no reason to be insecure about who you are, what you look like. Instead, focus on being the best version of yourself and don't worry about looks or appearance, as long as you look after yourself. 'The good guys' who aren't superficial will then come to you and they won't care much for how tall you are. People who turn away from you because of your height are not worth it. Those are people that can't make an own opinion and stay away because they are scared of what society or other people have to say.

In other words, no reason to be insecure.

I'm tall too (180cm) and I used to feel like you. But now I think that we aren't less attractive than short girls it's just that some men think that having a taller girlfriend will hurt their ego. These guys probably aren't good choices anyway, if they can't accept who you are 😋 There are guys out there who don't mind having a tall (er) girlfriend, I've met some, and I bet you will too at some point !
You need to understand that being tall does NOT make you less attractive, just look at all the beautiful tall models out there ! Learn to feel confident about your height, and your body in general, it will make you look and feel so much more attractive. I know it's easier said than done, but trust me, it's totally worth it 😄

I don't really know what to say. i mean shorter girl have better proportions, they can wear 4-5 inch heels if they wanna look tall or have long legs and then take them off and look short again. they are seen as cuter and more adorable. they have smaller hands, And feet which also look cute. in general they have everything that makes them more attractive.
Believe me if there were two girls, one tall and one short and they looked the same and had the same personalities and the guy had a choice many guys would pick the short one.

For me shorter women are more attractive, I'm not going to lie. It is personal preference but the majority of males seem to be with me on this one. Some psychologists think it is a dominance issue. Others think it is a masculine trait to be taller and thus more robust.

I think this is really interesting, I for one do like short girls. Though I'd definitely date a girl my height. Though in the city I live in there are a lot of tall girls and contrary to what you said, the majority of them come across as very arrogant. Especially in dating apps, saying they will only date a guy who is taller than them. Except these are girls who are 5'11 and taller.

And cmon I agree that girls shouldn't be so focused on the Guys height, but guys also go for looks. i doubt the first thing a guy looks for is how intelligent a girl is. he looks at her outside physical appearance first, then her personality is what keeps him. i rarely hear guys say 'wow her brain is so sexy' as much as I hear them say 'her ass/boobs/body/legs/face etc is sexy'. i don't think it's that guys feel they are necessarily more attractive. i think it's more that the average guy wants a girl his height or shorter (and girls similarly want a guy who is taller). i think it has to do societal gender constructs and a belief in height differences being related to dominance and submissiveness

I like girls around 5-7 - 5'10 because of their height. I consider 5'8 to be ideal, but taller girls are more attractive to me. Will I date a short girl? In general, I feel like tall girls threaten fragile masculinity, so if you are taller then a guy and it's actually a problem, they weren't a good choice anyway.

On the internet could mean a lot of things. I haven't seen many verifiable studies of that but either way. The hormone levels doesn't automatically reflect personality or beauty.
They influence feminine vs masculine traits, but they don't dictate them. I mean, I know shortly girls who are extremely masculine and lesbian, I know tall ones who are feminine and bi. So in general, it effects but doesn't decide anything.

It plays into the masculinity dynamic. "Dominant male" stuff. They feel like if you are taller then them then it somehow makes them look less manly. Again, if they do, they aren't worth it.

Listen, the idea of "tall is dominant" is fragile. It's not actually true. Many dominant be people are shorter. It doesn't actually have an effect on your dominence, just the percived dominance. I'm 6'2 and a switch. If they really decide to reject you because of height, then they aren't worth it

Who told you that? I love tall girls and so do a lot of other men. Our only gripe is that their weird about dating a guy who is any shorter than them. Kudos to you for overcoming that prejudice! I respect you a lot for that.
Try going after a guy who is shorter but very strong. He may feel less insecure. I know that was true for me. Being under six foot doesn't feel like much of a handicap when you have 17 inch biceps and you can curl fifty pounds with one arm.

I think you're correct (Asker), overall, but I don't fit that mold. I prefer taller women. It means more to me when I satisfy a "big girl", so to speak. I suppose I'm the opposite of the guy who goes with petite/short so that he can bottom out, and feel like a big man. I might have average equipment, but also have confidence enough so that I don't need to go for short.

If it makes you feel better, models are usually tall. So technically, you're more attractive.

As for not many men not finding models attractive, there are quite a few who do. Very many actually. Hell even some women want to be a model, or just envy them. But either way, they do put standards on society. Some short girls want to be taller, some tall girls want to be shorter. Most people are never going to be satisfied with how they look.

I'll be honest with you, I'd never date a woman taller than me. I dated a girl for a bit that was the same height but when she put heels on I felt it was an attack on my masculinity. It's no one's fault, it's just my natural reaction I couldn't control. Some guys prefer taller girls, just gotta get out there and find them.

Different guys like different things. Obviously some guys prefer ladies shorter than they are. Guys tend to want to be dominate in a relationship. If your lady is taller that might threaten your place in the pecking order. Dumb but guys are guys.

In college I dated a girl that was taller than I was when she worn heels. I thought it was great. She was a wonderful person and beautiful so that worked for me.

You just need to find a guy that has no problem with your height.

Tall girls are not unattractive. I'm more than sure you are beautiful. It might be hard to find a man because of media. Guys often see in the media that in relationships guys are taller than women. So most guys are attracted to small girls. Also girls want a guy to be taller than them so guys do not fall for women that are taller than them because they will be rejected. The reason why it appears shorter women are better is because 99.9% of the time the taller the woman is the more shallow she is and the less likely she will like guys.

I wouldn’t mind a taller woman. Most guys wouldn’t I would imagine. You may have to make the first move or make your signs more obvious if you like someone. Men may not make the move on you so that they don’t feel odd being shorter. They’ll still be receptive to your signs though.

5`11 is the optimal height, but taller is also OK. There are a relatively large number of women around 5'11 where I live.

I think the issue is with how much taller you are. I recently went out with someone who was 5'1, we got on well but when I grabbed her hand as we were going between places I had this sudden feeling of crossing a kid across a road.

Short guys have the same complex you do about being tall, I'd hazard a guess that you next to them would make them look even shorter.
