Why do people say 'The quiet ones are the worst'?

Quiet ones are sometimes the culprits of sabotage (hence the "It's always the quiet ones" stereotypes).
Watch the show with the two blonde boys (hint, hint) ;)
Specifically, the episode where the idiot slacker boy has to take care of his mom and his uptight twin brother because they are both sick, and you will see a subplot where a 16-year-old airhead weakling who works the candy counter will stop at nothing to win some stupid vacation that doesn't exist and the "quiet one" sabotages her plan.

They usually mean shy or quiet people hide behind a fake persona. Really, there's more to them than meets the eye. Once you get to know them more, they aren't as shy or quiet. They are more talkative an outgoing than an extrovert

I know a woman who seems really shy , quiet and vulnerable. But get on the wrong side of her , and you'll see a rotweiler. Lol She's certainly not meek and quiet when she's wronged by someone. She can be very mean and vindictive.

I can't say I've ever heard that expression. I prefer the quiet ones, I feel there is a bit of mystery about them and finding out who they are is sometimes like unwrapping a gift. Quiet people tend to be more closed off but once you get to know them and their true character comes out it's usually a pleasant surprise.

Quite people are not the worst usually quite the opposite, their usually just humble and don't feel the need for their voice to be heard constantly.

It's more that people are intimidated by quite people they sometimes think we can hear everything everyone else is saying and are judging them with are silence

Its the wise and smart and intelligent ones that use very little words. Listening and absorbing all they can. Words can be the best most beautiful things said or the worst most evil things said.. Cause words come from the heart.. So its wise to be smart with your words.

To be honest, people are asses to quiet people. In school, I was a quiet and shy boy, and as a result:

-People thought I was weak.

-The thought I was soft spoken

-They called me "good 2 shoes"

-They thought I was too nice.

I was only quiet until I had something to say, and I only spoke if it was important. I never liked to waste time on trivial matters.

I'm still quiet, but at work, I have my own team, which I am head of (I work in corporate America) and I run 2 small businesses. People need to stop judging quiet people.

I assume it's because often quiet persons often tell quite little about themselves. If you refuse to do this (not feeling comfortable) then people might feel that you are being hostile to them or stuck up. Hence, the impression is created that quiet people are the worst.

Yeah I have been told a few times in my life you should never trust quiet people because it is too hard to know what they are thinking and I think that is very unfair. We are often black-listed by potential partners because they see us as too much effort to get to know.

Quite and shy people don't want to involve in the drama going around in the society. as I'm quite and shy guy i don't like meeting fake people coz they were expecting something from me which is not good at all... People tend to use others often and it's true..

We quiet people have those huge ice walls you need to break before we show our personality. After that's done you've gained our genuine trust.

So some people might not wanna take the effort to break it and find out they're nothing like they thought to be.

We can sometimes appear a bit creepy too I guess when we're observing the situation at a party for example.

Those truly shy ones however. Talking to the most extreme cases is like talking to a wall.
