I believe that I will talk to the funniest person in the room but will be more attracted to the smartest person in the room. And I understand that the smartest can come off as pompous or snobby and stuff the sort or just stuck up, which could be detrimental to a social setting as someone else had said. But for me the funniest person is usually ate a lot more broken than the smartest person will be and it will eventually show through their comedy which will then bum you out. While with the smartest you might learn something new and it's might help you
