I believe we are equal, as in, one is not better or worth more than the other.
We are physically and mentally different, obviously. Those differences have led to enormous imbalances against women, and significantly more imbalances against men than most women realize.
We're equals in heart and spirit. And on paper. But in practice, the laws are upheld very differently. Society will always believe a woman as victim and a man as aggressor - even when it isn't true. Female statutory rapists get tiny, tiny sentences, while males get decades in prison. So much more. Really. So no... we're not equal at all.

Women and men will never be equal, but under the laws yes and we all must respect each other...
Men are men and women are women, the beauty is that we are different, we continue each other and by marriage we become one.
We should fight to be treated as politically equal as possible. Every citizen should be treated and respected as a individual no matter any arbitrary trait they have been born with. However we can't deny we are biologically different or biological tendencies and that those differences affects us to a certain extent.
Men and women are not equal. They are complimentary. They fit together like a lock and its key.

In theory they should be equal at least thats what society would like one to believe but this is a two fold thing 1. Men were built physically stronger than women thats why their the hunter gatherer protector of the family and women were weaker physically thats why they were the nurturer and caretakers of the family BUT society today would have people believe men and women are equal when clearly theyre not. The third wave feminism movement took things to far turning women into man haters and misandrists who have to compete with men BUT won't do the same tasks a man will do like work in a coal mine or oil rig or railroad tracks or building skyscrapers the dangerous jobs men do like carry a fellow 180lb soldier on their back to a rescue helicopter. Women want to overthrow men in society without realizing that guys are the ones who do all the dangerous jobs not just sit in a pretty office bitching aboit not getting equal pay for being less experienced and office gossip and play office politics all day. Thats not equality thats just being a b*tch. And feminism will have every white knight sjw mangina coming to her rescue if another guy defends himself or calls her out on her sh*t. So do I believe equality exists NO. Look at the court system in the case of a divorce majority of the time women file for divorce just to get alimony. Look at child case custodies. Majority of the time the half-assed kangaroo courts will award custody to the mother screwing the father over not only in visitation rights but also child support payments and if that guy misses a payment you bet your ass the courts will be on him garnishing his wages and throwing his ass behind bars for missing payments. And look at the suicide rates men commit more suicide than women do. So no equality doesn’t exist the system is rigged against the guy due to this f*cked up country
By nature no. Thats why nature split us in two, to "specialize" if we were equal thered just be one gender. That and of course because its a great way to mix genes, but "specialization" follows by evolution anyway. That doesn't mean you shouldn't get equal pay for same job or be able to persue a rich sexual life without societal stigma. I am however not a fan of quotas allthough i have to admit its needed sometimes. Its a tough subject that can be viewed from many perspectives but weve evolved into a very complex civilization and should be able to behave civilized enough to treat everyone equally when it comes to rights, both legal and cultural/societal. But do i think we are equal from natures perspective? No, i dont know which one is the best either because i dont know how wed start measuring something like that, if thats your next question. Neither do i care either frankly but we are different, thats why were on gag after all. So i dont think equality and justice is the same. I dont care about the equality part as mentioned because i really appreciate our differences both as individuals and members of two different genders, but i do care about justice which I think per definition means treating everyone equally. Tough subject
NO, and they never will be.
Biologically, physically, emotionally.
There are certain things women can do better, and certain things men can do better.
If you let a female athlete compete against a male athlete in a physical sport, she would get her ass whooped.
Some people seem to think that equal rights means being the same as men. It doesn't. You can give them equal pay and equal opportunities, but they will still be different from men.
It's not sexist to say, that both genders have certain things they are better at.gender equality and justice are two diffrent things.
Justice shouldn't care what kind of people you are. but that doesn't have anything to do with justice equality mor like staus equality.
And to answer your question no they aren't. Wkomen still get payed less for the same work as men. and its still difficult for women to become a CEO. And dont we forget the countries like saudi-arabia (did i spell it right, I m sorry if not)
and some guys still thing girls should satnd in the kitchen and take care of the kids.
However, There are a lot of strong independet women in Movies and animations.
Furthermore women can become something that was originally aMans job.
So no, bu we will get there someday.NO, In the west women are protected like an endangered species while men are dime-a-dozen expendable lower than hog squalor. e. g. men have to register for the selective service, otherwise no school or jobs, and women don't. Women can join the military to be stylish, but men might be forced to someday. SO, women are jus-tice equal and more so than men. They were once on a pedestal and now the government has put them on Mount Olympus.
Equal in what way? They are certainly equal in value. They should be equal in rights and privileges, although today western women clearly have more rights and privileges than men do, so there is work to be done in that respect.
The fact is men and women are different so it's impossible to say whether we are "equal". But what matters is that we have equal rights, opportunities and privileges. What we do with those is up to us as individuals. Therefor we will never have, and should not strive for, equal outcomes. In current society it tends to be favored towards women, affirmative action is only applied to women and rarely to men. And something like a false rape allogation can totally screw over a mans life even if there is no evidence just because its allegedly traumatizing for the girl. Also in devorce it tends to be the men who ends up with nothing while the girl takes all.
So inequality is certainly there, but the systemic inequality is mostly at the expensive of men rather then in favor of them.People keep using that word "equality" in the weirdest of ways.
Is a 98 year old man equal to a 21 year old woman? Is a 16 year old teenage boy equal to a 52 year old middle age lady?
Maybe they are not "equal" in abilities. Maybe one is physically stronger than another. Maybe one is smarter or more intellectual. Maybe one is more talented with music.
But they all deserve equal protection under the law, equal access to opportunities and to basic civil and human rights. No there's no such thing as equality, equity does exist and matters.
If we were to be equal in enforcing law which the hight court always implies were doin but not actually then it'll be a rule of hammurabi an eye for an eye... Which makes the whole world blind.I treat all women and men the same. After all we are all human beings. We have the same color of blood. We aren't aliens for christ sake. Now if they are treated the same by other people I don't know and most probably not but i treat them the same and that's all i care about lmao
No. Physically we are different. Enough said.
Now in a societal context, no we are not equal due to the existence of various stereotypes and double standards, as well as unrealistic expectations. Equality can never be completely achieved.
Justice is different. Way different.I'm certain that the sexes are treated very differently at a systemic level in the US.
So, we're definitely not treated equally where the law is concerned. I believe that men and women are basically biologically and psychologically equals. Equal but different. People get too hung up on the semantics where people's rights, responsibilities and opportunities should be the fundamental concerns, not the frigging words. You could write a book on this subject. In general men and women are. In specific areas no. Men are physically stronger. Women are mentally stronger. Both men and women see things on different levels. Men and women are human beings. Two arms, two legs, a body to fulfill the different part we play in life.
We are both sides of the same coin, one cannot exist without the other. We are partners in life.why are people on GAG so obsessed with feminism and equality like there's more important things to obsess over like garlic bread and chocolate chip cookie dough iceream smfh
Both men and women have things they bring into a relationship. Being a man or a woman doesn't mean you are above your partner. There's things that a woman is good at simply because she is a woman and the same is true with men. But when these are brought into a relationship they balance things out. both make you grow as a man , a woman a individual and as a couple
Well do you mean equal as in having equal rights and opportunities?
Cause if you're talking about just physical traits they are clearly not equal. No matter how much testosterone you inject in a woman or estrogen you inject in a man, they can never be equal.Equality of what? Equality of opportunity or equality of outcome? These are two very different things. Equality of opportunity means we all start at the same starting point, but life choices along the way will determine the final outcome; with vastly different results for each individual. Equality of outcome means that no matter which life path you choose, the outcome is guaranteed to be the same for everyone.
no they are not equal. they are different by nature. equality and justice are different, sometimes opposite. equity and justice are more the same.
when we speak of social equality: equality of opportunity is desirable, equality of outcome is harmfull.I feel we are treated fairly in most areas.
The difference between fairly and equally is that fairly takes into account differences between men and women.
Sure things like divorce laws for men and out dated traditions for women are not really fair but in most things we are pretty fair.No and they're never going to be. Women now have more rights than me and for some reason still play the oh woe me card at every given chance.
