Why are there so many famous misquotes from Marilyn Monroe?

What I mean by misquotes is that there seem to be a lot of famous quotes that were said to be spoken by the actress Marilyn Monroe but are a lot of them were made up it seems, of course I'm aware there are actual quotes from Marilyn Monroe, but on the other hand it seems like if you want to use a MM quote you have to research it to make sure it's an actual documented quote from Monroe.

It's not just her, it's the case with everyone. We all need to be wise on confirming the quotes. It's interesting tho because you can easily confirm it via internet itself. Internet is a tricky place, you can find very actual and useful information if you look into the right sources.

However, in her case i wouldn't be surprised, there are many people jealous of her and hold hatred toward her for who she was as a person and how she symbolized liberating women's behaviors and role in the society.

There are a lot of misquotes from a lot of famous people. But yeah, I know what you mean. The one that I see most often is that one about "if you can't handle me ant my worst you don't deserve me at my best" bullshit. Bitch, even if she did say that, you don't compare to her. The woman was a goddess.
