I get why men would like her as far as appearance but ladies why are you idolizing her
Because most women think they were put on Earth to be catered to and taken care of , thinking she shouldn’t have to lift a finger. That she should be treated like a Princess at all times, if she doesn’t get her way, she will get it elsewhere. Marylin had a tough life growing up , but eventually she was swept off of her feet by her beauty , she was drawn to all the attention she was receiving and thinking she had the world wrapped around her finger , with all the fame and glory she was receiving. Her selfishness took the better of her and that’s why she ended up dead. Most women idolized her because that’s how most women want to be treated , that think the world should revolve around them and to be catered to , having selfish mindsets by thinking the grass is greener on the other side , not realizing she was slowly digging her own grave by thinking that way.

I honestly don't get why people idolize celebrities in general. Their not gods, their just people like the rest of us with their own struggles. Literally the only difference between them and everybody else is their rich and famous. the only difference.
I think something that most women don’t realize, is… they are led to believe that they are never good enough…
“Buy all these cosmetics and be like Marylin Monroe. She was the “it” girl that had it all!” …but they don’t see, or are told to ignore the flaws.
Like a little make up or eye liner is ok, but how much money do women WASTE on trying to look better, when they should just be doing the inner work to FEEL better about themselves?
But all these industries don’t want that, do they? So they perpetuate all these falsehoods and rile up all these insecurities in people to “BUY BUY BUY… CONSUME CONSUME CONSUME…”
”Only THEN will you be good enough…” 🤔🤔
I like Marilyn. She was ahead of her time, her style and fashion. I liked her for being charming, authentic, and talented. She was mistreated many times yes, but she still held her head high. That's what I liked about her.
She's not perfect, and so am I. Who am I to judge?
She was a beauty icon, everyone wanted to fuck her. I think all woman want that for themselves so they somewhat idolize her. I always pitied her because even though she was pretty no one really seen her as wife material and then when she miscarried she was seen as barren. After that she let so many guys use her. Hence why she ended up dead.
She was promoted as a beauty icon, just like Elizabeth Taylor and so many others before and after. It was the image.
Girls always emulated movie icons and still do. They would get similar hair styles and wear similar makeup and clothing. Today, it's more about popular celebrities and not necessarily movie stars.
People idolize celebrities without knowing anything about them in real life.To the world she's seen as a a girl who came from nothing and became this successful superstar. And that's a story that sells that's why she's so iconic. Her personal life was a mess. I don't consider her a good role model but her story is quiet fascinating.
People idolize others for their positive traits, and mainly ignore the negative ones.
Marilyn Monroe, a poor farmgirl from Kansas who became a superstar, sang Happy Birthday to the President. Many girls would be very happy doing what she did.
She was a lot smarter than she let on, well-read, a great business woman who launched her own production company during the studio system. Oh, and the most gorgeous thing to walk on two legs… The undisputed archetype of female perfection until Pamela Anderson, who’s still really just a copy - and with a similar depressing personal story.
It's strange, because Marilyn passed away (controversially), Aug.5,1962, the day basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing was born, when even I was just nine, and most of today's broads were at least a generation from being born. I wonder if it's her combination of beauty, a great body, and vulnerability which draws many women to her because they can see themselves (or wish to see themselves) at least slightly in her
I don't know I mean a lot of people look up to Santa Claus and I recently learned that Saint Nicholas was the patron saint of prostitutes... I would highly recommend looking that up because it's an actual thing apparently
they dont know much about her. they just think pretty hollywood icon with a glamorous life when they think about her, not the other stuff
Likely because she was gorgeous. She was also more feminine despite her bad habits than all modern women today. Those get offended congratulations you are a modern woman. Those that don't congratulations you are not a modern woman.
It's because she was a pretty, famous woman with a realistic thicker body type that was coveted.. That's really all.. Most of the people who idolize her probably never watched any of her movies, or seen what her life was really like..
What does her being an orphan have anything to do with the rest of the list lol
Most people only know her from her movies where she is the super-feminine star.
I don't idolize anyone, that's so weird to me
Marilyn Monroe was very misunderstood and I think there was a lot more to her than her looks. I don't idolize her but I think she was a fascinating woman.
I don't see her as a role model but I have a lot of sympathy because she was an orphan who was sexually abused since a very young age.
She was beautiful and smart too but HOLLYWOOD fucked over the woman as they did then and still doing now
She's a mass market sex symbol with a Hollywood lifestyle.
