+1 yFully grown? When you use that phrase, are you referring to someone being done with their physical growth, emotional or mental growth? Or all of the above?
The majority of the world sees a person as an adult once they reach the age of 18. Usually that's when a person can legally be judged as an adult for any crimes that they happen to commit. Mentally a person has matured to where they can make their own decisions (Most of the time) at the age of 18. A male has not yet quite finished growing physically, until 20-21 years of age. As for the mental growth, people do not stop growing mentally unless they do not take the time to process and learn information.
Now, mathematically speaking, the teen years end once you reach 20 as the ending "teen" is no longer in your age.
In my eyes, some people do not mature to where they are "fully grown" until they are about 25, both men and women. Some people are just rather... late bloomers?
In Japan, a person becomes an adult at the age of 20. It is one of the only countries that I have ever known to have such a late legal minimum for adulthood.00 Reply

however mentally for many, people dont mature properly until between 18-24, but yes physically you are fully grown at 18 as your bones will not (unless you have a rare growth condition) grow anymore when you reach 1820 Reply
No. It's the legal age of accountability. Most adults start at 21. Nobody is fully grown. 25 is usually the start of being called an adult. While 18 means your either a man or a woman. And 18-24 is young adulthood.

+1 yOut depends on the maturity of a person. I've seen 16 year old more grown than 30 year olds. Some kids are forced into adulthood for a number of reasons.

Being 18 SHOULD BE fully grown. But in today's society it usually amounts to only a teen. I would even dare say that 13 should be fully grown. It's not all the fault of teenagers. Older people should have been pushing the younger people into adulthood.
00 ReplyDepends on your definition of fully grown? Puberty hits way before 18 and at eighteen if the child is taught right things before, he/she can be considered fully grown. Tho currently, at eighteen it would be dumb to consider a guy/girl fully grown considering they are mentally in that state of fun that they don't want to grow out of! And parents aren't teaching their kids right because even they don't know what to do.
10 ReplyNo, it's partially grown.. Grown enough to buy porn, cigarettes, and whatnot.. Teen enough to still be in High school, not be able to drink alcohol, still go to prom, and still live witcho parents, and act like abrat..

+1 yI agree being 18 doesn't make you an adult but only in the eyes of the law you are
I think the ripe age of 25 makes you an adult because at that age in the UK you have to be paid the living wage and not minimum00 Reply
+1 yMaturity doesn't have to do with age but with each individual

+1 y18 to maybe 22 or so is like adulthood with training wheels. After that you’re kind of expected to have your act somewhat together, haha.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI think you came up with the best answer yourself. Anyway, eighTEEN is definitely still a teen. So is nineTEEN. But even in your teens, you can already have a mature, responsible way of thinking and dealing with life like a fully grown adult would.

+1 yIt’s legally grown by 20 is when you are fully grown
10 Reply18 is a teenager. Fully grown, an adult, is only when your mind thinks like a responsible adult, could be 21, could be 30.

00 ReplyPhysically or mentally? Physically, most people are fully grown by the time they are 21. Mentally, some people never grow-up.

+1 yI'd go so far as to say you are never fully grown. but, I really feel like adulthood starts at earliest 21. More like 25.
00 Reply18 is fully grown technically but the brain has to do some more growing and you will grow taller until age 25 but I see 18 yr olds as adults
00 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Other topic. It mostly depends on your maturity. But let's be honest, at 18, most people aren't mature. Many are barely mature at 25.
