Women who dress cute but modest, do people treat you differently in public? Guys what is your opinion on women who dress modestly?

I want to know from the women, are you ever treated badly by people in public who don't understand why you dress the way you do?

And guys, what's your first initial thought when you see a woman who's attractive but dressed modestly (meaning she's covered in all the right areas. Her shorts and skirts are much longer and her tops don't reveal any cleavage). Is modest apparel more tasteful than a woman showing everything? If so, why? If not, why not?

Whether I’m dressed in baggy pajama pants or wearing a nice sundress or wearing short shorts, I’m treated the same. Men might be more inclined to hold doors for me when I’m dressed nicely, but I’ve only had one awkward encounter. I was wear a skirt with a slit and a t shirt bodysuit underneath. Pretty modest. I’d gone to the store after church and a gust of wind blew, making the slit very obvious, and a man in his car whistled at me. Honestly flattered. He didn’t approach me or anything.

Yes when I dress modest guys are more respectful and always try to be gentleman. Usually by holding open doors, giving compliments, or asking me out. I thought more clothes meant you didn't get hit on but I was sooooooo wrong. 🖤🤓

I think a lot of women underestimate the power their attire has over how they are perceived by men.

How a woman dresses subconsciously sends a very strong message about how she views herself and how she wants to be perceived by others.

It's very unrealistic to say you should not judge a book by its cover because the book consciously chose its cover for a reason.

To your specific question, when I see an attractive woman who dresses modestly I take her more seriously as a person. I have more respect for her than I do a woman who dresses immodestly. I can be attracted to either, but in different ways.

It's pretty simple. I view women who dress provocatively as women who are looking for a certain kind of attention. I see them as prospects for casual sex. But I don't see them as prospects for a serious relationship because their values and self-image are not consistent with what I would want in a woman for a serious relationship.

A woman who dresses more modestly is not soliciting the kind of attention the other woman is. She sees her value as more than sexual. She is someone I see as more likely to have self respect and the sort of values I would want in a life partner.

What advice would you give young women like me, who feel the women who are dressed provocatively get more attention. For example when I'm out in public I can rarely get a nice man to approach me and say hi. They stare and stare some more lol but when a woman dressed sexy like comes they run to her, talking and laughing as they go.

Women who dress provocatively are essentially wearing a neon sign on their foreheads that says "I want male attention". It gives men a green light to approach them.

But women who dress modestly are not sending that message in the same way. So, it's a two edged sword. You want attention, but not the wrong kind, so you're limiting the attention you'll receive as a result.

Keep in mind that those women who dress provocatively will often complain about how much attention they get or the fact that they get a lot of attention from guys they are not interested in. That's unavoidable when the responsibility for approaching is pretty much always on guys (let's be honest here).

Another factor is that for guys, approaching women is not as "safe" as it once was back in the pre-MeToo time. In fact many guys feel unsafe doing it now, but are more comfortable doing it with a woman who is essentially saying "I want male attention".

So, it's complicated for both men and women, and there's no easy answer. My best advice would be to dress modestly but learn how to show interest in guys you are attracted to. The days of women being able to be completely passive in the dating game are over, and it is largely women who have made it that way, so they need t olearn to adapt to the new world they have created, just like men need to adapt.

Those are two different types of girls for me for two different things. Girls who show everything are for sex only, I don't want to hang out with her and especially not be in relationship. Modest dressing is more relationship type.

Not at all. You can dress modest and not be in business attire. For example a nice sun dress with sleeves that comes a little below the knee. It's tasteful and modest.
