A few times. A have a lot of extracurricular activities, including debate team, Mock Trial, and Model UN. Those sorts of activities, in certain areas, have a tendency to turn into a total boys club.
The main thing that comes to mind is the example that convinced my father to become a feminist.
When I joined debate team in high school, my best friend and debate partner (who I'll call Sarah) and I were the only two girls on the team. The team was supposed to work together when making our cases, leading up to the tournaments, so that we could practice against each other. The boys wouldn't talk to us about anything though. When we tried to join, it was like they didn't even hear us. So eventually we just started working on our own. The teacher knew why, and occasionally when he gave the guys grief about it, they would send another boy in our grade, who I'll call Nick, over to see what we were doing.
So we worked alone, from the time that we started, and we still did pretty well. Certainly better than average for our school. By our senior year, we were two of four girls on the team. Yay!
Our senior year, Nick and another boy had appointed themselves as presidents of the team (there was no election). There were four pairs of students on varsity, which meant that we would have two varsity "teams," as a singular "team" (as far as registration is concerned, is two pairs of debaters). They decided to make the two pairs of guys the A team, and my partner and myself, along with the two other girls, the B team.
Sarah and I had done better than the other pair that Nick had decided to put on the A team in previous years. We also had more debate experience, and our plan for this year had performed far better in practice rounds. I told Nick this, and he said that it only matters if you make it to finals.
Of course, we did make it to finals. As did Nick and his partner. The reason it matters if you make it to finals is because the judges usually don't place people from the same school against each other. But if you make it to finals, it's based on your rank. They will only interfere to prevent people on the same team from going against each other.
The judges let our debate instructor know before the tournament that we would be debating against each other. It's unusual to have two teams from a small school make it to finals. The teacher only told Nick. Not us. He didn't dislike us, but he liked us a lot better when he didn't perceive us as a threat to the boys.
Sarah and I found out about it because Nick and his partner told the entire school that it would be easy. They went on and on about it, even in classes that they shared with Sarah. (I had a very different schedule because of music). They also invited a whole bunch of people to come watch them win and then compete in the last round.
The teacher even told us on the bus that it's okay to lose, and that "no one expects you to win."
We crushed them. It wasn't even close. They were mad. They accused the judge of bias. (Their argument was that the judge "looked gay" and that he was therefore liberal, and therefore would favor the girls.)
I'll go over the aftermath in a reply.

Yes, it happened online obviously (mainly on gag). Many people seem to have a keen interest in where people defecate in my country. I find it stupid as it's none of my business to find out where they do it or if they use toilet paper or not.
Some people made fun of my eyes for being "too big" while literally no one in my country has said that to me. Infact, they compliment me for it both online and irl. I asked about my body shape and there are always a few bad people that make negative comments like it's been edited as if only editing can make you look thin and not exercise or properly fitting clothes. Some people just say "You're Indian lol" as if being Indian is a joke in itself. I didn't expect it to be so full of racist freaks. Some people really need to focus on self-improvement instead of trying to bring others down.
Regularly. My disabilities, my low income level and my race all play a factor. I'm dehumanized for my living situation, often being told im a waste of life who deserves to be in this situation or worse. People have bullied me and treated me like I was stupid because I'm autistic, among other things. And often I feel I am prejudiced against for being white. Often the interactions I'll have with black people will be negative ( on their end) but they will not act that way with customers who are black. I've had an onslaught of racist rhetoric towards white people and me in particular by black people. Usually women, but men too sometimes.
In my experience black people are more likely to be racist than white people. But, racist white people are more likely to commit hate crimes.
Yeah, plenty. Usually it is because of being a man, but sometimes it is because of being White. I'm also Christian, but the hate I've encountered against Christians has only been online. The discrimination for being a man or for being White was in the work place, and when trying to rent an apartment where they gave preference to minorities (non Whites apparently because Whites are actually the minority where I live) and they gave preference to women. I was on a waiting list for over a year and could never rent an apartment where I wanted, even though they kept allowing new Hispanic women to rent throughout that time.
It's totally illegal for them to do that too, but it isn't enforced.

Yes. Iβve been discriminated because of the way I acted at my job. I was working fine with a group of people I was working with and when our supervisor told us that we were going to change stations and do something different, I was happy. Then another supervisor told me he was going to separate me from the others and have me work alone. I responded by going to the floor manager and he talked to the rude supervisor. Later, the same supervisor wrote me up and suspended me for just bringing out my Bible during lunch time. When I told the office that, he was immediately dismissed and we got that write up taken off my permanent record.
Quite a lot! Everything I do is attributed to me being Asian. Good at math? Asian. Is introverted? Asian. Wants to be a doctor? Asian. Got into Johns Hopkins? Asian. Likes Bulgogi? Asian. Likes Boba? Asian. Likes Kpop? Asian. Likes Webtoon? Asian. Likes some White guy? Asian. Likes hanging out with other Asians? Asian. Sometimes even I wonder if my experiences as an Asian girl growing up in an Asian community has something to do with the things I do :( :( :(
I experienced a few racist comments for my ethnicity along with my preference in white men. One guy on gag private messaged me and just made me feel bad about myself for being attracted to men outside my race and called me a chaser and a white man's whore. I also get treated unfairly a lot in my family for just being young. Ugh, being old doesn't mean you're wise just as being young doesn't mean you're stupid.
Everytime I have to go to a mechanic.
Thank the gods for YouTube.
I've diagnosed my own car problems before going in, showed up with necessary parts and how much that repair ACTUALLY FUCKING COST.
I say some mechanical jargon to sound like I know anything about cars - I'm not even sure what the e - brake is for, or how to accurately check my own oil - but they think I know how to rebuild a transmission by the time I drop the car off.
And talk em down a few hundred dollars.
😆I was verbally assaulted by an angry black tourist and her family after not loading their luggage onto a bus for her. She practically spat in my face and called me and the people of my nationality 'racist as fuck'. I was speechless.
I've also had my opinions and arguments dismissed more times than I can count on the basis of being a man because, somehow, to certain people, my gender means that my opinion doesn't matter and that I'm not allowed to feel offended or discriminated. Needless to say I get angry and annoyed whenever this happens, but I've come to realize that the people who truly believe that men should shut up about their feelings are just a radicalized vocal minority.I'm white and yes, I was discriminated for based on my sex, race and heritage. Each from separate experiences.
How did I respond? Not at all. I don't care what other people think of me so it's whatever. Except that one guy who was also threatening me physically in that context. I told him to fuck off or get rekt (Spoiler: The latter happened).I am a white man what do you think I was born that way and I think life at times can be a struggle for all people especially those who focus on the color of our skin but let me be the first to let the 🐈 out of the bag but if humans live long enough as a species one day we will all look 👀 the same and I know what they will look 👀 like how about you?
Well, I was told that I didn't know what pain felt like because I was white. I thought that was pretty dumb, because regardless of skin color, EVERYONE goes through pain in their life. Pain shouldn't even be compared, because everyone's pain is real to them. I mean, seriously, you mean to tell me that losing loved ones isn't real pain? That's something nearly everyone goes through at some point or another.
Yes being accused of a crime I did not do but was fired and jailed for 6 days before even allowed to see a judge and judge said records show only held 2 days because it room them 4 days to fully book me in system dispte others being brought in for similarly charges and out on bond in 2
Yep, plenty of times for being a cis white male, that is poverty class, being socially awkward, and has hard time finding a relationship, and discriminated for shit my family wasn't even in the states for (I'm 3rd gen American, we were not here for the slave shit).
Yes, In the Domenican republic there was a folk fest and the guys from the fest wouldn't want me to get on the Festival because "White guys can't dance", well I paid them and got on anyways and proved them haha
Yes, it happened here.
A certain manchild who apparently does nothing but playing videogames at over 30 years old felt need to scream at me for being Italian because of our current government, as if I had any responsability in it.I am going to say I have not to my face but I am pretty sure behind my back. Like not getting the job because I am black etc. I would say I have been talked down to before or have been told by a white person your not a n** but those over there ( other black men who donβt talk proper) are niggers. I was shocked I didnβt know what to do
Plenty of times and the people who get discriminated the most are people who stand against transsexualism and homosexuality. I take it a step farther. I think we should be disgusted with pork eating and shellfish eating also. It defiles our body. So, yeah. I'm not just cherry picking.
Yes iv been discriminated against by my own grandmother because of my age she literally thinks just because she's older that what she says is better then everybody else's even considering she's pretty much racist against every race.
Well, we have unabashed racists who frequent GaG. One even confronted you. The thing I find hilarious is, they will simply call you a racist because you dislike their racism.
Weird stuff. It's sad. Not me as much, because I'm lighter skinned than my siblings. Within my family though yes, because I'm light skinned.
When my brothers and I are travelling somewhere new, I have to go out and get their food because im lighterYes. I have been bullied and discriminated while in school because of my foreign last name. Not by students, but by teachers!
I got discriminated against for being Muslim
Funny thing is, I ain't muslim/arab! 😭I was actually turn down a job because I'm white. I was told they wanted more minorities to apply for the job.
