Have You Ever Been Pulled Over By The Cops? What happened?

I've been driving since 2009 and I'm black. The reason why I'm mentioning my race will make sense shortly. I've only been pulled over 3 times. The first 2 times I was pulled over, it was for a taillight being out. The last time I got pulled over... well, it was my scariest.
When I got pulled over in 2015, it was near a construction site. There was a cop who was in his car directing 2 bulldozers at an intersection. I arrived at the intersection first before the cop. So, I went ahead. The second I went through that intersection, the cop immediately flashed his lights and started tailing me. I looked into my review mirror and he was gesturing for me to pull over. So, I pulled over.
When I pulled over, I rolled down my window and turned off my car. I put my keys on my dashboard. I also put my insurance and license on my dashboard as well. I was taught to do this so the cop doesn't get nervous if you reach down, for example.
I saw the cop quickly get out of his car and make his way towards me car. When he looked me in the face, he was red and he looked PISSED. Instead of asking for my license and insurance, her said (while yelling at the top of his lungs):
"Didn't you see me at the intersection with those bulldozers? I was directing them through the construction site. You could have created an accident by not letting me and the bulldozers go first! You just committed a CLASS C misdemeanor. Do you want me to take you to jail? I'll call my squad and have them haul your ass to jail. Well, do you want to go to jail today?"
I apologized profusely and told him I don't want to go to jail.
He was silent for a second and then he belched out, "GO!"
I quickly started up my car and left the scene as he got back in his car and turned back around towards the construction site.
Since that day, I've never been pulled over again and I get really nervous when I see cops around.
Thanks for taking the time to tell your story. I really appreciate it. This was VERY disheartening to read. I'm sorry β₯οΈ
I was pulled over only ONCE in my Life. Here's the story:
I received my Temporary Driver's License only a few months prior to the stop. I picked up all my Siblings from Soccer practice, and was heading home, when I turned a corner to join a road, and flashing lights appeared in my Cab! Staying calm, I pulled over, turned off the radio, and put my hands on the wheel. The Officer approached the vehicle and asked "How are ya?" I responded "Just fine, Officer." He just mentioned I almost clipped him on the road, (He was on the shoulder on the road I turned into, and it was dark) He asked to see my License, and I pulled out my piece of paper stating my Temporary state. After a moment, He said "I'll see you on Thursday!" He was the Officer speaking in Court when we all get our Driver's License Cards... How embarrassing! He let me off without a Ticket.
The other time I met an Officer was when I was recently involved in an Accident. I rear ended a Jeep. My car was TOTALED, Her car was only barely SCRATCHED. What a wonder! Neither of us were hurt, no glass broken, and I claimed full responsibility. No charges were pressed, and the Officer, Cpl. Van, was very sweet and understanding. He was extremely helpful on the information I needed, since I'd never been in an accident before. He called a Tow truck for me, and we parted ways. The Officer even gave me his Business card!
These two stories are sooooooo crazy. Like OMFG!!! But at least both experiences with the cops were good ones. π€
Lmao, ok i got a short story that mom told me.
She was out driving with me when I was around two. A cop pulled her over and he asked her to show license and then was asked to blow in an
breathalyzer (I'm not sure if the is the correct English term, I am from Sweden). And as soon as I saw that mom got something to blow in, I started whining and begging to use it too. This cop was apparently visibly annoyed and probably in a hurry, so mom didn't dare to ask if I could try it. So I was just jumping around my seat asking to play with this thing, while mom were trying to keep me somewhat under control and converse with this grumpy officer. Nothing happened but she told me she were so stressed and embarrassed trying to keep me calm and let the officer go on with his work 😂
Nah I have never been pulled over. One time my hubby got pulled over for driving too much in the left lane😆 he didn't get a ticket so it was all good.
YAY no tickets β₯οΈ

When I get pulled over, it is usually for speeding. I present my drivers license, the officers take my information and issues a ticket than I dive away. I do not back answer the officer or disrespect him, I was speeding and he was just doing his job.
I have been pulled over, because I had a back light out and the officer issued me a warning and I had 24 hrs to have it fixed or I would have to pay a fine.
Last time I got pulled over, I was going about 9 to 10 kph over the speed limit. While not a speed that will usually get you pulled over, I sped up after passing traffic radar and the cops said it was suspicious that I sped up know that radar was out. I explained to the officer nature was starting to call, and finding a tree to stand behind was not a option. He had a laugh and sent me on my way, he did radio ahead that I was in distress lol, Which I thought was nice of him.
Oh it wasnβt me but was a guy. I called him I was upset. He came to meet me, he hurried so fast that he ran the red light and cops pulled him over right in front of me. I felt so bad at that point, so guilty. If he didnβt go that time, all would be well but I needed someone to talk. I was so hurt. He then asked me to sit in a car, I did. We were then sitting in a car while the cops were checking identity etc. They had the lights on, everyone who passed by, looked at us. I would too. I was a bit embarassed but its ok
Loads of times, one of my previous cars, it turns out, was owned by a drink driver so whenever the cops pinged my number plate they'd stop me,,,
But the most interesting time, perhaps, was a few days after the Brighton bombing when I was with three mates on way home from the gun club, now, I speak with an Irish accent, and we were driving past The Grand Hotel,,,
So, armed cops asked me to open the boot, I refused because there were pistols, rifles, and shotguns in there, was afraid of being shot tbh,,,
I asked them to cuff me, which they did, showed them my firearms licence, Land Rover then arrived and blocked my car, opened the boot, all sorted in the end and we departed on good terms, they were only being cautious but it was a bit scary having an MP5 and several revolvers aimed at my head,,,
I am a former reserve deputy sheriff,
I've heard it all on traffic stops.
I've even been stopped before (a couple years after leaving the department)
By a park ranger , the guy was a rookie and a hothead. I was polite and did what he said , wrote me a ticket for failure to exercise due caution...
Judge dismissed everything because he didn't show to court and his citation was illegible and not signed by him

So... One I was pulled for for talking on a cellphone, he asked at the time, was it an emergency I said no I was talking with a friend, i forgot that conversation and my parents told me to go to court to say it was an emergency the cop was there and said that I said it was not an emergency... It was fun :)
I also got pulled over for improper wearing of a seatbelt :) and that my dad helped me get out of...
I was unknowingly speeding a little bit. Got off with a warning... possibly cause I started tearing up.
It was my first time ever getting an βoffenseβ though, so that mightβve been it too 🤷🏼ββοΈ
Luckily they just gave the warning. π₯°
Yes for speeding too many times. I had to go to defensive driving for one occurrence and I had to do an appeal with an affidavit for another. I was issued a warrant but it was dropped once I called the county office and explained my situation.
Damnnnnnnn. What's the fastest speed you've been clocked at? π±
Oh yeah over a hundred times all for speeding before I was a cop. Now I just show my badge. When I use to get pulled over they always tagged me for speeding but could've and shouldve got me for Driving Drunk. The last Speeding Ticket the Judge threatened to suspend my license ad me go to all kinds of classes and spent weekends with all the Volunteer Fire Companies and see what Speeding, Road Rage, and Drunk Driving does. I didn't soeed after that. Since becoming a cop I do more speeding again...
yeah a few years back on my motorcycle, was night time and my home was in a very well lit area so the light on the bike was hardly noticeable when on or off... and my bike coat sleeve knocked the switch for the lights as i pulled away... got to a junction and was pulled over... the cops were great tbh, understood what had happened and didn't give a ticket just said please do try to be a little more careful... easy mistake to make too and let be go on my way
wtf? lol is your car okay at least? I've been pulled over by a cop that thought me and my friend were smoking weed, he didn't find any in the car and we dont do this really often but... we were actually smoking weed... lol
Lol π₯°
Yes. Many times.
I have noticed that local cops are more lenient. I was pulled over by a local PD officer for going through a red light and he let me go with a warning. I was lucky because he was related to some people that work with me.
On the other hand I have been pulled over by state troopers and they have no mercy. They stick you with the ticket.
Weirdly , most people don't know that there are traffic ticket attorneys that deal with this stuff.
3 times only i was also a speeder i had an ex cop car and i got caught speeding on it and tried to run and park inside my house😁. But it didn't work good thing the cops were cool about it.
OMFG naughty naughty boy lol π±
π thanks but they also have scared me once i did a right turn and made a rolling stop to check for pedestrians and went for it. But as soon as i did that 6 cop cars were following me with their lights on directing me where to go and all the drivers were looking at me like what did you do and i just keep my cool. But when they finally brought me to a stop like 10 cops were pointing their guns at my car it was scared and they asked me why is your voice shaky and i was like you guys made me nervous, and also told me to go get medicine for it. Last guess what no ticketπ .
I got pulled over once in my shelby gt500 the cop just wanted to look at it and told me "don't go to fast now". After he left I LMFAO and processed to do 90 on the interstate. Hahaha yeah I didn't go to fast, I could still control it
You did the right thing. Lolπ€£π₯°
I thought so
Few times, got away with a warning.
I live in UK that is very rare occasions, it is similar chances to win lottery here, if you keep all documents up to date and not in to shady stuff.
I cannot wait to visit the UK. Been thinking about studying abroad for a year just in case this war in America goes down. π±
You will have to follow the news for all those questions. π
I've been in cars that have been pulled over by the cops before but I've never been the one driving when it happened.
Your driving record must be pristine lol π€

WTF ahahahaha π€£ π€
yup.
A few times, never turned into a problem. Once they were looking for a stolen truck that happened to match mine, a couple times for routine checkstops, got caught taking a shortcut through a ditch to get around an accident
I was pulled over for speeding. The cop was a women and she was very nice to me. She even reduced my ticket. Never had bad experiences with cops.
Yes, speeding a couple of times. Never been fined though.
I never been with anyone pulled over by the police.
More times than I can remember. Didn't all end well.
Yeah, my window tint was illegal, so he told me to fix it. That's about it.
I've never been pulled over by the cops.

I got a speeding ticket.
Yes has happened a few times mostly for speeding
Not so far this year...
The year is young...
Yes, for speeding, maybe four times in my life.
Speeding is usual for me but they don't give tickets because I always take the ticket and then fight it saying that what they are doing is entrapment.
Most of the time it works
