Evolutionarily speaking, why are Indians so hairy considering that India is so hot?

Hair protects from UV radiation, acts as a extra barrier from microorganisms and cools the body down even more quickly without the aid of sweat.
All humans have hair. Indians just have lighter skin and dark hair which causes it to be seen more.
Also loss of testosterone in men in other regions and abundance in estrogen will explain further hair loss in other populations of humans.

The body hair surprisingly has the opposite effect and helps cool the body by allowing sweat to cling to it which in turn makes wind feel colder. It's like when you step out of a hot shower and it's freezing cold. The hair also protects the skin from the sun. White men in countries like the UK and America are more likely to cut and groom hair too as it's what most white women prefer.

'He' speaks: It was mostly meant to often not have much in common. Some of our 'genetic' traits aren't always adapted or 'useful'. True: the guy on the photo did remind me of a gorilla. Which does not mean that I consider him to BE one...

@Junen A bit of both... when we talk about 'typical' or 'average' specimen. I wish I had better personal experience with Indians - I met many - but was always actively disappointed, except for two. Interestingly, it's usually a male Indian who gives reason to be criticized.
I hear similar experiences from others, and from all over the world.
Sure: the 'good ones' will be there as well; but they seem to stay mainly at home.

@Junen Let's keep this constructive. I shared my own experiences; they are not prejudices but stuff that I have seen myself. With just two exceptions I found all my other contacts with Indian men as 'troublesome' and also with similar basic tendency. It's not that I want it like this, but I have a right to make the conclusion -for myself- that this group of people is to be handled with caution - and to circulate my own opinion.
