Why do people say things about you but not to your face?

it’s like if you seriously want to say something to or about me, say it right to my face. Don’t go and write it in a blog or spew out your words where they don’t really matter. Why do some people do this?

Thank you all for answering. Such great answers and I appreciate everyone taking the time to give their opinion. Hopefully people can just say what they mean. You never know, maybe there will be no confrontation or judging.

Because there pussies and woukd like to look better to there friends with out the consequences of saying it to the persons face but in the end it's all bully tactics just ignore it. You know the truth about your self and thats what matters and if a "friend" suddenly is distant because of what some prick said then they are not a friend

Some don't want to cause an argument or they want to get into a physical altercation. Some don't want to say it to your face because it may hurt your feelings. I dont know why people whisper things about people anyway. It is very weird to me.
