I’m good with Steve. Good, classic name, as I see it. My dad named me after Steve McQueen, despite my mother pulling for HAMILTON, of all names, lmfao, that would’ve ruined my life, that’s a brutal name for a kid😂 What’s that, “Ham” for short? Yikes. I owe my dad big for saving me from that horrendous fate, lmao.https://www.youtube.com/embed/9UefQYjG7rMI love that these dudes are all experts on cool guys but look to all be huge dorks themselves hahaha, but the point remains. Also, you young kids who watch Riverdale, Jughead was always this weird dude, as discussed in the video. Absolutely blows my mind that he’s supposed to be some kind of heartthrob on that show, lmao.
As a child, without a birth name? I would have chosen the name Crystal, or Ginger. I liked how they sounded.
Currently, without a birth name, I would probably choose Leslie, or Thomas. They have familial significance.
Having a birth name at any age, though, I have never felt the desire to change it. It has no significance of any sort, and I don't particularly like or dislike how it sounds. It's just my identifying title, and it serves its function.
I did choose my own name. Long story short I was in a situation where I basically had to move half way across the country and not be followed. Legally had my name changed. First name is now a shortened version of the one I was born with. Last name is my Aunt’s maiden name. Kept the middle name, nobody uses it anyways.
@Jmmmfi4 No idea, I Just picked the name. Someone else did all the paperwork.

Rock Mandrake Ironballs. I come from a long line of Ironballs. Where I am from you can't throw a rock and not hit Ironballs. Everywhere you look you see IronBalls. They are kinda mean too. Get one of them mad and you will not want to have Ironballs in your face. Many a lesser men in my town have had their asses destroyed from a run-in with Ironballs. My sister Newsome Ironballs is the same. She lives up to the name!
Man, I'm glad my parents named me. With my current self's attraction to so many cultures at the same time, my name would be garbled, inconsistent, confused mess (if my current self time-traveled and somehow was put in charge of naming me, with my actual name forbidden for some reason).
As with many faiths, upon reaching acknowledged maturity, We choose our OWN name. In my case, its a fusion of honoring the paternal grandfather who set my feet upon the path of inquiry "Theodore" and the greek character for a defending Provider "Orion" contracted down to "Theorion" "Theo" itself is another prefex meaning "God". And my life's arc has been to seek, research and to defend. <3
Chris. Simple, American, straight to the point. My real name is one of the gayest, beta names ever: Marvin. Only "Leslie" or "Alison" or some other female name on a man would be worse. I f*cking hate it, yet my identity is tied to this name, which is why I've never changed it. But damn what a gay, beta, sissy, wuss of a name.
I didn't like my given name - YUK! - so I changed it. My mother had a crush on a 'singing cowboy' when she was young so... screw me over with his name. It is now a distant memory and I've had a civilized and historic moniker for many decades now.
I hate my name, it's very common where I live and it has nothing to do with my personality. I thought about changing it but I quit because it was too complicated and expensive. So, if I could choose it I would change it to Diana or Melissa.
This is kinda funny to me because I'm trans and I did pick my own name. It's not super different from my birth name, but you wouldn't be able to guess what it used to be from what it is now. I also changed my middle name while I was at it.
I was named Taylor, which I love. That said, there are soooo many Taylors out there now. So I would probably go with an old-school name like Amy or Holly.
I think it would be fun if u could choose your own name but you would have to do it when your 5 years old can u imagine all the batman super man and han solo there would be 😀
I like my middle name Ileana but technically I can just choose to legally go by it anyway. If I could choose a different name altogether then I’d choose a Sanskrit name like Aishwarya or Ipshita or Janhvi or maybe Nirupama or Sharmila.

I thought about this for a long time, about changing my first names or last name. In the end decided to keep them as they are as they offer known identity (although I use my middle name, not my first - and that confuses the computers).
I am perfectly happy with the name my father gave me.

My name is that from a ancient Jewish hero. I'm not a fan of my name even most people say it fits to me, I would prefer Germanic one. On the other hand my DNA contains 4% Ashkenazi.
