Do You Like Illegal Street Racing?

No! A dear friend of mine was killed while driving home by some illegal street racers! So NO! I have zero time or patience for them at all, and I always call 911 whenever I see it and thank god my memory is as good as is is, that I am able to recall their license plate numbers after only catching a quick glimpse! I also tell the 911 operator that I have the incident captured on my DashCam and ask them where I can meet the officer to give them a copy of the video. To those who feel that it’s harsh, I guarantee you the guy sitting in prison on a vehicular manslaughter charge, would have preferred an expensive ticket that night! I would DAMN sure rather have my friend back!
Just had 2 people killed, 4 injured, and 7 cars destroyed in my area due to an illegal street race. I believe we had 5 deaths last year due to illegal street racing in my suburban town.
I'm fine with racing, and there are several race tracks in the Bay Area that offer various types of racing for amateurs - you need a helmet and your car has to pass a safety check, and higher classes of cars need additional safety gear, but otherwise anyone can race. But those places are as safe as racing can get - spectators are protected and safety issues are very rare.
Racing on streets where people may be walking, kids playing, and other non-involved drivers driving is absolutely reckless and the penalties should be severe, in my opinion. Too many people - especially innocent, uninvolved people - are hurt and killed.
Depends on the race. If it is a chase or random encounter pass race, that’s one thing; if it is an organized drag that is another. The way that Club Midnight is reported to have done their racing is the best example of what I’m talking about. These guys would drive in excess of 200 mph on the open highway but their cars were fully built to be able to handle whatever came their way; they even improved their headlights by setting up double high beams to signal their approach to regular drivers. Japan had this shit down to a science and the guys racing were generally high profile individuals with a lot of prominence and a lot of power so they had to be responsible and make sure to never get caught.
In the US it is all about attention, which is lame as fuck.
Agreed, I visited Japan for swimming, I did see some people going insanely fast, I don't know if it is common or what, but one second they were there, then they were not..
I do not condone such actions such as this, it is 100% illegal for a reason, not only that but it could also cause public or property damage and harm. It may seem cool to be a bystander watching this but in reality it could be quite dangerous.

Yes it's still against the law but there are locations where it's held.
In August My City has Classic Car Show over six to seven thousand cars how old all tricked out.
Hot August Nights in Reno Nevada and they will have a street racing event that will be legal
but there's always going to be street racing legal and illegal if you love cars and you love go fast and we build them to go fast and we build them to be faster than others
I did it a few times because of the thrill... it was stupid, even with many "precautions" taken at the time (effectively closing streets) it was dangerous... and even at the proper and legal tracks I saw accidents happening. So, no, I don't like it... I keep the adrenaline rush off the streets, I still like to go off-road where if something happens, it'll happen to me, nobody else.
It's all fun and games till someone gets killed.

I drive a dodge challenger - the cheap one with 400hp. You just don't race on the street.
It should not be illegal because nobody has the right to tell me how to drive except me. If I buy the car then nobody can tell me how to drive it except me.
You also cannot own the road and make rules for said road because the road did not consent to be owned by anyone.
Roads aren’t sentient beings, they don’t need to consent to anything 🤦♂️
@Redstang88 Regardless, I’m not hurting anybody by doing my own street racing. It’s my right.
Uhhh, yeah people frequently are hurt street racing
@Redstang88 That’s the car’s fault then.
Usually not
@Redstang88 True. Good points. You changed my mind. I think they should pass a law to ban people from street racing now.
They're an excellent source of young healthy organs and other body parts.
I don’t mind it if it’s safe. We have to remember that their are myriad races happening all over without video. So when you see a guy crash on the YouTube video, don’t think that applies to everyone.
I’m more of a spirited driver. I’ll street race, but it’s normally from a dig, or 50-130 on the highway.
Organized street racing? Too many idiots.
Illegal street racing !
In case if mishap you are surrounded by Police.
If proven to be illegal you can not even claim Insurance... that is what is important.
Likely permanent physical damage is another aspect.
The real challenge is drifting. The majority of street-racing faggoty Americans who think they're cool barely handling a straight line would piss & shit their pants in Japan or other countries where drifting is popular.
I don't care for criminals nor the crimes they commit. There is a reason this is illegal. It puts lives at risk and causes many deaths each year. Everyone who chooses to be present for this belongs in jail.
Never seen it happens bar a guy who put racing stripes on a Honda civic and wore a backwards hat at 30
I dont care either way. Now illegal combine races. Now your talking
Street racing is stupid. Unless you actually have experience on a real race track, such as an NHRA sanctioned track, you also don't have the medical and rescue staff on hand when things go wrong, and they will go wrong.
Is it illegal if the police don't care, like I do that sometimes but the sheriff doesn't care usually
Not on busy roads but the back roads they don't care here at least
Nope. Good way to end up in jail or kill someone.
When I was a kid there were street racers every Saturday night. My old Chevy could not race but I knew a guy who had a 64 Nova with a 327. It put out 350 HP. This car flew.
I dislike them due to the fact that I live on a long stretch of straight road and have had many cars land in my front yard upside down and periodically on fire. This is why I don't approve of them now.
No, I don't like that at all. I respect my life and the lives of others around me.
Street racing not really. I always wanted to be a F1 Driver.
Who wouldn't risk killing himself and many others for a stupid idea.
Done it, not worth it. And the only people that have fast enough cars to actually win money already have enough to not risk it
They kill people. Who would pay $20,000.00 bucks to see a car racers family die than an innocent one. I would pay 20,000.00 to see the street racers family dead.
Well, around our area the police are cracking down on people speeding with ATV's on public roads
Stock car and street racing really don't excite me. Im more of a formula 1 type.
I do like it but I rather just watch and hang out with the sexy girls that participate in the races and gambling.
That is like a high risk, high reward. The risk is since it is illegal you can be caught and jailed.
Hence I will never do such things.
There is no discipline in it.
So i dont like it.
Ugh... Who's paying 20k? Lol real life isn't like a video game.
And no if you want to race take it to a track. I think it's dumb because it puts other drivers in unnecessary danger.
I watch street outlaws all the time. They have some really fast cars
I got a 70 el Camino that everyone with a hellcat thinks they can beat🤣🤣🤣 I hate that they’re cracking down on street racing in my city
I think its stupid and dumb. One reason my insurance continues to go up instead of down
Lmao if I'mma die so be it but I'd loved to watch it 😂 or join
Yes but i think it should be make leagal and a different track or road for racing so to avoid accident
Until I sold it, my old Camaro never saw a pair of taillights
Too dangerous for the racers and for other people so no
My brother was killed by a street racer who lost control and drove over him
you just posted evidence and incriminated yourself. thanks.
Stupid and dangerous as hell.
Only when I'm in a hurry.
Very cool! I love such things.
No, because innocent people could die.
I don’t like Illegal stuff but i do like racing.
Pretty selfish and wreckless... not my thing
Anyone who says no hasn't been to or been in one.
I said no, I have participated in many illegal street races and now I dislike them due to the fact that I live on a long stretch of straight road and have had many cars land in my front yard upside down and periodically on fire. This is why I don't approve of them now.
It's $50,000 where I'm at
It looks fun lol
No; I don't like anything illegal.
Now prominent is this?
i think i could do it but it would be a side thing
So much fun.
I know a lot of people who have died from it
Never seen it
Yess
Lol why do chicks dig it so much?
Very cool!!
you watched one to many movies
Only in movies
Dangerous
Not my cup of tea.
no, i don't
