No. But this is an easy thing to say no to because "laziness" is very subjective. In some ways, it can't be measured very accurately either. And people's interpretations of what makes a person "lazy" can be very biased, misguided &/or completely wrong.

And a person can be insecure for reasons that aren't in their control. They could have a genetic predisposition to it, or external events in their life could have impacted them and shaped them to be who they are.

For instance, I'm insecure to a certain degree. And no amount of conscientiousness or competency at something will completely remove it. It was caused by childhood trauma. And to treat it, I have to get therapy and dive into the traumatic points in my life to try to fully understand them so that I can overcome them.

I'm not totally against the idea that insecurities could stem from a person being "lazy"/internal causes. But I cannot agree that all insecurities have that same source. Many (if not most) come from external causes.

I don’t think there’s a connection between insecurity and laziness - people can have plenty of energy and enthusiasm but have an array of different insecurities. An active and energetic person could have any emotional or physical insecurity - some of which you may be able to work on, but others you may be able to do nothing about. People with insecurities are not necessarily lazy - there is no direct connection here. If you have insecurities, it does not make you a lazy person - it just means you have insecurities, and perhaps you don’t know how to handle them 😒 but that’s not laziness.

Nope, I know a lot of people over lockdown that are hugely insecure but are working 12 hour days including weekends.

a lazy person can be really secure and happy, they are just lazy.

an insecure person can be that way for a vast number of reasons, such as new to job and not knowing exactly what to do, mental health issues causing emotional insecurities, job worries causing insecurity but driving them to work harder because of this insecurity,

I used to be really insecure and one day I decided to fix myself. I still get rattled once in a while but I know I can deal with it. I tell myself that I have seen this before and I can deal with it now.
Some people can be lazy. It's easier to complain about how unfair the world is.
