What was your last near death experience?

So I went to the Poconos a few weeks ago for a friends birthday. Now, I am extremely afraid of drowning (bad experiences). For this reason I usually stay close to the steps of pools. The pool at this house had super slippery floors and the shallow end was really short. The floor of the pool sloped down after like 3 ft and then it was all deep end. And there was a rope right before the slope. Just a weird setup.

Anyway, when I was younger I could swim under water like a frog. So I thought I would see if I could still do it. Remember, the rope in the pool was right before the slope. And the slippery ass floor. So I go to back up to the rope and my foot slipped! Down the damn slope and under water I went. I wasn't close enough to the wall to grab that so I tried to grab the rope. Because it's a rope and weighs nothing, it was no help. Again, drowning is probably my number one fear. By now I'm panicking. Bad. I can't stand up because of the dumbass floor and there's nothing to hold onto. So I'm basically drowning at this point. Luckily one of my friends had just floated over near me. She grabbed me but because she was in a donut she couldn't really pull me up. Her husband is basically a fish so he swam over and they pulled me to safety.

Safe to say I'm done with pools until I take lessons because I'm traumatized. 😭😭😭
