What is your most important hobby?

Not sure if this counts, but reading. (Movers several years ago estimated the weight of my book collection at over 2 tons.) It sharpens the mind and expands the base of knowledge. This then helping me to keep some perspective, both historical and personal.
This, in turn, I hope, making me a better person. As Francis Bacon said, "Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man."
Well, I do all three. In fact, one of my other hobbies is this site - where as many who have endured my writing will tell you, I often exceed the character limit for replies. Throw in that I have been published, either under my own name or that of my employers, in "The Washington Post," "The Washington Times," the (now defunct) "New York City Tribune," "The Orlando Sentinel" and a host of other papers. In fact, I had a column in 12 Detroit area newspapers back in the late 1980s and early 90s.
So, not sure if I am close to where Sir Francis Bacon was, but I am working on it.
Playing guitar and singing.
I got my first guitar when I was eleven. I practiced a lot. I got my first electric guitar and amp when I was 13. I joined some bands.
By the time I was in high school, I was getting pretty good. I played guitar and sang in three man rock bands with bass and drums and got really popular.
I still play.
My biggest hobby is dancing. It helps me to get rid of stress and I enjoy it so much.
What's your preferred style of dance?
Salsa, hip hop, bachata, jazz, kizomba, reggaeton too but only alone at home. Those are my favorites but I can dance to any kind of music. I learn fast
Impressive!!!
Good For You!!!

I have many hobbies but none would mess with my sanity if it went away. Because they are an expression of who I am, not making me who I am. So I would simply apply myself to something else, hench the reason I got many hobbies in the first place. So unless you plan to shut me into a empty room for very long time my sanity will be intact.
Being around horses. It completely clears my mind. I used to get out to my mom's place a few times a month to exercise her horses but I haven't been able to for about a year now due to pain, and it's really wearing on me. I need a day to think of nothig else but not getting stepped on or thrown off lol
3 mile walks, Gun range, cooking something new, buying new shoes and being on or near a lake or river. That is very calming, laughing and talking with friends
What's your favorite gun to shoot?
sports... I definitely need all those chemicals running through my system, once in a while.
What sports?
football (soccer) is the one I've played all my life, and then American Football (like the NFL)
I've also tried rugby, volleyball and some tennis, basketball and baseball (these last two I didn't get into them much)
I build things. I've been designing an engine for about a year and am working on the electronic control systems and monitoring system for the car now. I can make pretty much anything and plan on designing a high performance, maximum control espresso machine as one of my future projects.
Reading 100%. I have a pretty low social battery, but I overthink a lot so it is bad for me to stay stuck in my head. Reading is the answer to that problem.
Writing poems. I wouldn't really want to burden my close ones with sad emotions of mine, so I have to express them elsewhere. Preferably not showing them to anyone if they are sad or tragic, though.
It helps me to drive any type of sadness away... until it comes back, in which case I just have to repeat the process.
I guess fitness and athletics. Working out is beneficial to me on many fronts, and sports (currently hockey) gives me a purpose to feel like I’m training for, and also satisfies my competitive urges.
Being out in nature. My favorite thing is to go to a field spot with a lot of trees and watch the sun rise, set or a thunderstorm while drinking tea or coffee.
How do you like your coffee?
Pokémon shiny hunting. Already having a living Pokédex but would love to have a legit/legal living shiny Pokédex.
Reading and writing. Exploring nature. Those are all things I have to do.
Masturbation, if someone took that away I’d soon after lost my sanity.
Bladesmithing. I've been doing for the last 10 years. 2020-2021 was rough, do to all the forced overtime at my job, and I barley got to step foot in my shop. My union went on strike last week due to the hours and the stingy wages increases they were offering. I've done nothing but work in my shop since. I'm in heaven.
Writing, excersing, reading, socializing, drowning in music, power nap, taking a stroll, browsing, watching videos on YouTube, studying, playing with animals, mindfulness.
If I had to choose one I'd say writing.
(Typing out stories or poems.)
I can write about emotions and thoughts that are definitely there, but I simply can't reach otherwise.
I make bracelets as a hobby turned into my little business
Having an airplane. It's a lot more than just flying. The hangar is my man cave of sorts, including a sit down area, beer fridge, and stereo. Whenever the wife is like "that's it- you go to the hangar tonight". I'm like "YES!"
My writings. I love writing & i really hope to get one of my works published one day. Even if it doesn't go anywhere, it would just be nice for someone to take a shot on me!
I like to read Christian self help books - especially the ones from 20-50 years ago, I feel like, they are less media savvy and less commercially based than the modern ones.
Putting out flags and markers for my Lifesaving Service and Coast Guard veteran's graves.
Baking helps keep me happy and regulated. I also happen to be getting paid from doing it on the side when I’m not working so win win
