I know it's all about power and control over their victims. If we go back to their backgrounds, which is more like the answer of why they became that monster: - Extensive abuse and/or rejection: they were once an innocent baby, then got raped as kids or an adult figure of the opposite gender abused them or they were rejected love - Nature: they were already born defected and had the predisposition to act it out. Do you think they are born or made?

I'm trying to figure out how they can think it's ok to force someone into sex, disregard the victim's fear, disgust and not care about traumatizing the victim forever.

Most rapists if you look into their pasts, are the product of an abusive home. The percentages go up if they are from a single mother home, which happens to abusive, Note i didn't say all single mother homes, just the abusive ones. Some are victims of sexual assault them selves and because of the power vacuum they seek power over others. Its a vicious disgusting cycle.
Made that way, usually by their mothers (bad mothers create a hatred of women in men which is why serial killers and rapists tend to come from homes where the mother was abusive or neglectful in some way or another).

Yeah most of the times... Then there is the rare one where Ted Bundy's mother loved him till the end but he still chose to be a monster; destroying many lives, destroying his mother.
Guarentee you that it was disfunctional. Sure sociopathy is a thing, but we know that not every person who is unempathetic becomes a criminal, in fact most do not. Enviromental triggers are required to activate that.
One could argue that their are biological traits that make it EASIER to become a violent person or a rapist, but every one of them requires those enviromental triggers to set them off. He blamed porn, which again I doubt very much but he was also unstable prior to that so it could have been another trigger for him.
Nobody is born evil. My grandpa always says that a person has both a good side and a bad side and the environment in which that person is raised in, can influence what they’re more of: good or bad.
Irony is if I went into a time machine and saw those convicted rapists as babies or toddlers; I would be like ''ahhh, he looks so cute; I can't believe this is the serial rapist capable of such evil''.
