Also, you wouldn't have to design anything if you didn't want to. So you could choose any ability and never use it, only use it when you want to, etc.
Back in the 90's, there was a time when Lucasarts made more than Star Wars games. One of them was called Afterlife, and it was basically SimCity, except you were managing Heaven and Hell. It was also WAY more complicated; Heaven wanted you to make things simple, clean, and efficient- get the SOULs moving through quickly and easily. In Hell, they wanted long, winding, ungainly routes that made them take forever to get anywhere, because, y'know, punishment.
I had one game where I'd actually managed to get Hell up and running pretty well- certain reward or punishment structures you could build would generate "vibes" that the manual explained extremely poorly, but I'd managed to figure it out and was slowly raking in cash- and then the "Disco Inferno" disaster fired up, and a giant leisure-suited monster began boogeying through Hell, stomping everything as he went. Unfortunately, he destroyed the intricate system of roads I had set up, and I had to interfere on the planet the SOULs came from to have them only go to Heaven for a while. I finally fixed it- with no small difficulty, because Heaven was getting woefully overcrowded, even though I was reincarnating them as fast as I could- but JUST as I'd started to get things running again, ANOTHER disaster fired up, with a giant nose rampaging through Hell and snorting the infrastructure into Heaven. I wound up with so many lost SOULs populating Hell that the Powers That Be destroyed my domain by unleashing the lava-spewing four Surfers of the Apocalypso. (I realize that many of you reading this are probably thinking that no video game could be that weird; that surely I must be making all this craziness up. I weep for this world, where video games have traded insanity for inanity.)
Anyway, based on those unpleasant memories, I'll go with paradises. Less PTSD that way.
Someone else's dreams are not mine to interfere with, and attempts to do so would invalidate the purpose of the dream state.
To give a person's conscious mind a rest from activity, while the subconscious sifts through all the clutter of the day's browser history, to delete inconsequential data, try to analyze and make sense of relevant, somewhat disturbing or unsettling information for compartmentalizing, prioritizing, contextual classification sorting and varification, and burying and locking of deep suppression and denial classification folders in a protected file section with a sensory data encryption (Memory of👃,👁️,👂,🤚, etc. of unsavory memory being inhibited from consciousness) security🔒locked @ 🔐secured for rude awakening rediscovery later in life.🤯🧪🧠⚰️🥀😝.
Without the free dreem state, you might as well scrap the REM State, forget trying to figure out that whole eye rotation thing that happens during this period of recuperating and 🧠🌊 re-initialization between Alpha, Beta, and Omega, brainwave frequencies, and just permanently induced people in a chemically 🧠 embalmed state of La🕺La💃Land 🧚🧚♀️🧚♂️Bliss🔮🎠 with cutting edge🧬 prescription🤑

Oh wow, so much power, I'm absolutely giving you nightmares.
But not any normal nightmares. I'll be watching you closely and thinking of the best nightmares to motivate you to make better life choices. Muahahaha
Plot twist: I enjoy having nightmares
I would design paradises because I would like to make peoples' lives easier 🙂

Utopias. I'd charge people money for happy dreams every night (in package plans, like maybe ten for $100 or something) and make a fortune with that. I could see the benefits in using nightmares to haunt the minds of wicked people, but I'd rather be more positive.
that's not a bad idea! Didn't think about that
Attention humans.
Your countries no longer exist. You will unite as one on whichever continent you dwell on.
You will no longer follow your original leaders and principles. Your governments are under my control, and you all will focus on expanding the new world order.
If you dare oppose me, or my plans for mankind, I will destroy you.
😈
I have to go with dystopia, more options and variations. Building paradises seems impossible and I doubt you can do it with more then a few people inside.
How about Michael on the TV show, 'The Good Place'?
He designed what 'looked' like paradise, only..., it wasn't.
What would I design?
Paradise.
In my profession I ''design'' Yachts.
That's something of BOTH :D
I see a dilemma here: Paradise for some - means hell for others.
So... does it matter what I create?
Who buys a yacht and complains about how much it sucks to have a yacht?
Those people should be taken to spend a month in a forced labor camp so they have a fucking clue.
@Lost_in_the_Woods - It's the ''just-so'' rich. They have enough for the boat. But nothing's left for diesel fuel :D
Unfortunately, the SUPER rich never heard of 'me' - or they go flying space craft.
The lesser rich also only can afford only a 40-footer, but want 5cabins for 10 friends... which they don't have.
The problems of the wealthy are in great diversity.
I'd rather design things that are appealing to the eye.
My training in Communications and Visual Design, though, has given me the skills and tools to also design the horrible. But I still design the "horrible" quite well!
I would design paradises for the girls I like and then add myself into their dream 😏
😂 that might just end up being a nightmare for them
Trust me it won’t 😏😂
I think so long as you're not creepy in the dreams, it won't be a nightmare
😂 no I would just leave subtle hints In their dreams
I would bring nightmares into reality
and then I'd start a Death Note list...
I ain't that cruel to treat another person like that. So I definitely prefer giving people good dreams not nightmare!
There are a few people I would die to design their nightmares but more people I want to love their dreams
I would design nightmares, our brain works in the way to preaper us to survive so... in your worst nightmare you might fine your selve into your truly state
Definitely utopia there’s enough nightmares going on besides giving people nightmares is kinda evil and I would want to be about so much evil
Nightmares are more metal lmao. 🤣
I am designing nightmares. Definitely.
Paradises so I could heal others mentally.
Even though its, not an option I'm choosing both.
Paradise because my life doesn’t feel that way
MORE SUFFERING
Nightmare sounds fun😀
Nightmares
The nightmare one
