I would go for planting a single belief into every single human's brain that is there to stay forever.

It would have to happen simultaneously in order to be more effective and hope that the thought of 8+ billion people would finally help achieving a common goal. I haven't given a thought about the kind of seed but it would have to be one that the entire humanity could profit from and not just a few individuals.

Reading everyone's mind is not too convenient because reading the mind of all those people would not benefit me. How could I remember what person 3,206,441,714 has been thinking of and how would it affect me?

It'd be interesting to see who doesn't change their behaviour in response. I suspect most right wing politicians wouldn't because they already know it, but reacting appropriately is a threat to their wealth.

Probably A. It's something I couldn't resist. I'd want to see and read everyone's mind. I remember answering a questions about what kind of villain I'd be, I answered I'd probably be the Eye of Sauron from Tolkien's Legendarium.

Plant a single belief in someone's mind. That would be the more useful of the two for sure. I don't have any specific use for it at the moment, but that would definitely come in handy at some point.

Unfortunately neither. Both kind of violate free will. One would allow you to influence a belief, the other would permit you to see things that could alter free will.

I think planting a thought is more of an active skill and could be more effective in changing peoples behavior... as long as the thought is a positive one. Reading a mind is more reactive.

If you could read minds you could blackmail the world or take unlimited amounts of money without being caught. I think mind reading would be more useful than even implanting the thought that you were a god or something similar.
