I don't like seeing my food cut up on my plate. I've thought about 'why' many times, and I cjan't think of any particular reason. If someone told this to me, my response would probably be: Well maybe you associate it with being a child and as an adult you don't need or want someone taking care of you. Or that it looks more 'chaotic' on the plate.
But I don't think it's either of those. I just know that cut up pieces (say, because I am doing something else at the same time, and if I pre-cut the food in bite-sized pieces, then I don't have to use two hands, knife and fork, to eat it. I can zone out and use just one hand), I keep trying it and think... nope. It looks really unappetizing to me.
Another food-related one is that I never place food, either in the fridge or in a cupboard, facing backwards. I don't like seeing the calorie count and nutritional information. It takes me about an hour and twenty minutes to shop inside the grocery store (that has nothing to do with the drive there and back, and unloading all the groceries), so I always pay attention to calorie count and that info, but once it's in my place, I don't want to think about it.
Plus, food looks better when all is facing forward, with the labels showing, not the back.
Mind you, I line everything up. Clothes face the same direction, jewellery is hung the same way. I just like a very orderly home.
